In a world where physical and emotional abuse, loss of hope, and suicide are on the rise. It is good to know there is hope at the end of the day. Broken Believer No More, proves that beyond those seasons of anguish, pain,and loss of self worth that we all may have experienced there will be brighter days. Once I started reading it I couldn't stop till I completed it.

Great read for all By andre Wow this book by Monica DeBro is a must read for anyone who has ever gone through anything in life and continue to beat themselves up for the choices made. Broken Beliver No More is gracefully written to include a roller coaster of emotional events in the life of a victorious believer. As a male reading this book I unconsciously prepared myself for an entire read from a woman's point of view however, I quickly realized that I could apply every scripture and many situations from a male perspective as well. I could not put the book down. Yes you will Laugh, Cry, Pray and give thanks that you are not alone.

By c ledoux Funny how when I was a kid I would examine all the pictures of Dealey Plaza. Hunting black and white photos for Lee Oswald whom had to leave the building sometime after the shooting had happened.Years of looking through all the films and photos expecting to see Oswald walking away after being let go for the day by William Hoyt "Bill" Shelley.Then one day I was on the Education Forum and Sean Murphy had spotted a man standing on the top step of the Texas School Book Depository in films taken by Darnell, and Wiegman during the shooting.No one could identify this person standing on the top step among the other TSBD employees.This is highly unusual as 50 years of study has been able to id everyone else on the steps, many along the street and yetthis man was not identified by other employees, the Warren Commission, FBI or any other investigative body.Then Sean Murphy did a study of all those on the steps, identified each person, in fact he took the employee list from both warehouses, and by a process of elimination points out each and every employees location at the time shots rang out in the Plaza.A few employees of the Elm street 'warehouse' were not outside, a couple of black porters and a large husky white male Jack Dougherty.The other was supposedly Lee Oswald.The Warren Commission and authorities tried to say Lee was in a second floor lunchroom drinking a coke immediately after the assassination of JFK. This goes against the notes taken during interrogation by Special Agent Bookout and copied by Captain Will Fritz.Notes say "OUT FRONT WITH BILL SHELLEY" so if we have Lee saying he was out front and now a visual id of Lee 'out front' it sinks the case for Oswald being an assassin.Obviously the man on the top step is not black. Obviously the man on the steps is not big and husky. Thus not the black porter or Dougherty.Sean was left with one name from the list of employees, Lee Harvey Oswald.Again this was methodical and scientific study done by Sean. When Sean put his work up on the Education Forum he was asking for any evidence of a flaw in his study or reasoning. It was peer reviewed and none could show it was any other employee.Now you might say, "Ed its likely a stranger," but the FBI specifically asked each employee if they had seen any strangers in the building that day.Not a single employee, besides Danny Arce helping an old man to find a bathroom, said any strangers were in the building. No strangers were among those on the stairs. Sean had Gary Mack, the late curator of the Sixth Floor Museum, ask Buell Wesley Frazier "whom was the man standing near him on the steps."Gary Mack responded that Buell thought it was Bill Shelley, yet Bill Shelley had left the steps and walked down Elm extension to see what had happened in the motorcade and the commotion near the knoll and railroad yard. Shelley was in suit and tie, PM is not in suit and tie.Thus the man on the steps is not Bill Shelley, this confirmed by other employees, and again leaves Sean Murphy with one name Lee Harvey Oswald.In this book Stan Dane does an incredible job of documenting this Game Changer for historical reference.We can see Lee Oswald standing on the steps as John F Kennedy is gunned down in the Wiegman and Darnell films. Closer analysis shows a match for Oswalds and Prayer Man's profiles, PM or Prayer Man being a term coined by Sean to describe PM's stature as if praying.Much more study is taking place at ROKC (reopenkennedycase.org) that confirms Sean's work.What does this mean for the Oswald did it contingent? It relegates it to defamation. Even the Chief of Police said he could not place Oswald in that window firing that rifle. I wonder why? Could it be due to the fact that Lee never owned a rifle, never shot at anyone, and was not even on the sixth floor when assassins murdered our President.What does this do for a case of conspiracy? It throws the one involving Oswald in the trash receptacle and moves it to other employees, or out of the building entirely.A must read for anyone whom thinks Oswald did it.Oswald was on the steps during the assassination, don't take my word for it, read the book.

By Peggy Sue Far from being someone’s opinion or mere speculation, this book compiles many documents that paint a clear and easy to understand picture of evidence to consider, evidence that places Oswald on the first floor. The only thing that’s uncertain is whether Prayer Man is Oswald, but that doesn’t seem to matter. Like someone said, that would just be icing on the cake. Sure resembles him to me though.

That very fact underscores the importance of this book. A few researchers, over the years, had pondered the identity of a mysterious figure standing in the corner of the entrance to the Texas School Book Depository, captured briefly on film taken in Dealey Plaza as chaos was erupting around the Presidential Motorcade. It turns out, that with enough effort, that figure could be identified.Author Stan Dane has provided us with a superb narrative of the origins and development of the research that eventually revealed the identity of Prayer Man. Stan was able to incorporate months of discussions, observations, photographs and documentary evidence into an absorbing and entertaining story. The information is offered chronologically in conceptual chapters. Each chapter ends with a summary detailing progress in the research. The story is told with an emphasis on maintaining the flavor and context of the discussions that included Sean Murphy and a small group of contributors, as they originally developed.It is important that this research reaches a wider audience. Polls have shown for decades that the American public overwhelmingly believe there was a conspiracy in the assassination of JFK. This book is a vindication of that belief. Its title in this e-book edition comes from a famous line in a Robert Burns poem, "The rank is but the guinea stamp/ The man's the gold, for a'that." In this story, heroine Joanna has to learn which of her suitors is the "gold". And there's also the common, ordinary stuff of life too. Joanna Fineton, young English gentlewoman, is expected (by her grandparents) to marry well, preferably to Lord Cholcombe's son Algernon, who's a bit of a dandy that she hasn't seen since childhood.He'll be coming to Teignton Manor, Joanna's grandparent's home, to pay his respects soon, but we also have a certain military man, Captain Masterman, who has been showing interest in Joanna. Not to mention mysterious Captain Jackson, who breaks into the house and has Joanna totally curious about him, although we readers know quite a bit (except for his real identity) from the get-go since his work as a double agent is spotlighted from the beginning of the book.This is a very well-written and well-researched spy story with lots of intrigue and red herrings to keep the reader wondering who's the traitor spying for the French in the vicinity. Joanna doesn't quite know who to trust and definitely is conflicted about who to love. There's action/adventure, romance, a good cast of characters, and fine dialogue in a well-plotted story.

There is an assortment of other characters, some mysterious, others very straight-forward and kindhearted. There are matchmaking relatives, spies, villains, and at least one traitor who is spying for the French, and the hunt for him creates an intriguing mystery which is finally solved at the end in time for the HEA, and the true identity of an important character is also revealed at the end as all the loose ends are tied up.This book, as well as "The Jewelled Snuff Box", are both old-fashioned, clean romance/mysteries which are a joy to read. Both are highly recommended.

Our heroine meets with Captain Jackson a smuggler and spy, but for which side? Her curiosity and snooping compels Jackson to expose himself. But can he trust her with the information and his heart?I enjoyed this very British, clean Regency Romance. The heroine is one of those intelligent, competent types who thinks they are right. Of course this is the moment when she is definitely the wrongest.

The era of the combat biplane is usually thought to have been between 1914 and 1938. By the outbreak of World War II, most of the advanced air forces of the world had moved on to monoplane aircraft for their front-line battle forces, both in bomber and fighter capacities. Yet despite this, many biplanes did still survive, both in front-line service and in numerous subsidiary roles, and not just as training machines but as fully operational warplanes. Thus in 1939 the majority of major European powers still retained some, albeit few, biplane aircraft. Sadly, and as an indictment of failed British Government defense policies, it was Great Britain who still had the bulk of such obsolescent combat aircraft, machines like the Gladiator, Swordfish, Walrus, Vildebeeste and Audax for example, while the inferior Albacore, meant to replace the Swordfish, was still yet to enter service!Germany had relegated most of her biplane designs to secondary roles, but they still managed to conduct missions in which biplanes like the He.50, He.51 and Hs.120 excelled. Both France and Italy had biplanes in active service, Mussolini’s Regia Aeronautica attaching great importance to the type as a fighter aircraft as late as 1941, while the Soviet Union also retained some machines like the Po-2 in front-line service right through the war and beyond. In addition, a whole range of smaller nations utilized biplanes built for larger combatants in their own air forces. By the time Japan and the United States entered the war two years later, they had mainly rid themselves of biplanes but, even here, a few specialized types lingered on. This book describes a selection of these gallant old warriors of all nations. By Brian Lee Knipple An excellent look at some, but not all, of the biplanes that fought in the Second World War, especially the first few years. Seventeen aircraft from Britain, Czechoslovakia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the Soviet Union are covered. The book covers design, testing, production and service before, during and after WW2. The book is more about the aircraft themselves and not the battles they fought in or the men and women who flew them. It is slightly marred by poor editing with the wrong word (spellchecking was clearly used) or a completely senseless statement, but it is thankfully rare.

In my opinion Lucia Jordan kind of missed the mark with this book. I did like it and it's a good read for erotica with a bit of suspense mixed in along with a few twists just for the fun of it, but the characters just weren't as developed as in her other books. The time line in this Bang! Book One jumps drastically with no reference to past interaction of Mason or Caryn. All-in-all, it was a good book, just a little lacking in some areas.

The character development is a little lacking, especially the female protagonist, and the plot tends to jump a bit. I sort of wonder if this is because of the length of each book and the work in its entirety. The content is, at times, a bit unrealistic. That said, I think overall it is a great read if you just want to read some erotica while letting your mind relax. I liked the way it came together and the conclusion. I don’t regret reading it.

By bookworm This is a heart warming, soul lifting, funny and inspirational journey of how the Lord lead the author (and his family) to the point where he knew he needed to become a missionary in PNG and what he has learned during the journey. It is an honest down to earth look into the author’s soul and his deep desire to follow the Lord’s calling. I found myself laughing with him one moment and very concerned for his (and the families) welfare other moments. It definitely gives you a bird’s eye view of what it can be like living in a 3rd world country thousands of miles from home.This book can touch the hearts and lives for any believer who is searching for a deeper relationship with Him. Through the stories in this book you can see God’s heart and love for all of us that trust Him. It also paints a picture for those of us who can’t travel to a 3rd World Country to see what it could be like.

Chad has a wonderful way of saying things By Harold Huntley A very readable book that is very engaging and interesting to read; Chad has a wonderful way of saying things, from the very funny "The Toilet Prayer" to the concluding comments on how wonderfully God works in his everyday life in Papa New Guinea. His reflections on the need for flexibility and the sensitivity to a different culture are important. The humor is wonderful, but his serious sections on family, home and the four D's as well as getting through the "lows" are intriguing reading. Chad states in his "outtroduction" that 'since 99% of the people reading this book' will know him -- I encourage anyone who does not know Chad to read it and see if we can get that number reduced (sort of like golf -- the lower your score the more you win:-)

I loved every sexy and thrilling minute of this story.Lila and Asher meet when she falls, literally, into his lap on a flight and while the attraction was there, neither one of them thought to take it to the next level by getting a phone number. Realizing that this second chance meeting isn’t one to be ignored, they take advantage of it and spend one hot, delicious, sexy night together. But still, no phone numbers exchanged. It seems it has been on both their minds ever since it happened and their undeniable attraction is palpable. Asher and Lila's romance begins again right where they left off but this time no one is leaving New Orleans.Asher, Lila and his adorable daughter Casey easily and quickly become a sweet family-like unit and almost forget the danger hanging over them. The murderer is still out there. Will their easy happy life together become another tragedy in Asher's life? By Shayna Renee's Spicy Reads EASY WITH YOU by Kristen Proby was a quick, sexy, and suspenseful romance that had me begging for more! I was a little worried, seeing that this was number 8.5 in a series that I haven’t even started. I’m here to tell you it can absolutely be read as a standalone novella. This gave me just a taste of the WITH ME IN SEATTLE series, and I’m so excited because I absolutely enjoyed the hell out of it, and I will be going back for more. Kristen Proby is a new author to me. I know! I know! I’m crazy right? But after diving in to Lila and Asher’s story, there is no going back. I fell in love with, not only the main characters of the story, but everyone else as well. Ms. Proby’s writing style is pretty fantastic and it was just my speed. This author came in, she conquered, and she won me over with her brilliant words and action-packed murder mystery. She kept me guessing the whole way through, and the in-between sexy times weren’t so bad either. Intense, passionate, and suspenseful to the max, EASY WITH YOU was impossible to put down. Such a FANTASTIC read for anyone (christian or not) By maria Found this book on my roommate's coffee table, started to read it and couldn't put it down. Such a FANTASTIC read for anyone (christian or not). unbiased, and definitely gives you the straightforward dirty details about sex and marriage that everyone has been wondering/thinking. Beautifully written and I believe that the advice can definitely give a perspective to new couples considering jumping into moving in together or taking the "sex" leap before marriage. Also great for singles, such as myself when reconsidering stretching my vulnerability before it becomes too thin.

It addresses why the good news that Jesus and the scripture's of the Bible teach is urgently relevant to anyone who has found themselves malnourished from feeding on post-sexual revolution pop ideology or from living bound up by the over-reaction of conservative fundamentalist.Generally I think this book would be a great resource for: pastors who counsel couples in the church, leaders of a men's or women's group who want a tool to help examine sex and the gospel, and anyone who is wrestling with how to deal with the the post-modern view on sex in relationships.

This page turner, seems almost voyeuristic at times until you clearly hear the narrator's voice as the loving pastor that he is. As a pastor, he is obviously a veteran story teller, skilled with useful analogies that portray eternal truths. You can trust you're in good hands on the subject matter. The shining words of grace fully illuminate the usually unapproachable topic. Written with the heart of the father, the wisdom of the pastor, and the writing abilities of a great author. While this book is certainly capable of ministering to a wide audience, I can especially see it as a useful tool for any pastor, counselor, wise mentor, or concerned parent. I thought it was a great read and will certainly look for more from this author!

A Unique and Wonderful BooK By Fu Xi This book is not about being an intellectual in the American sense of showing off, but about how to be a scholar or other whose work is based on thought. In my case it is science and ancient Chinese thought. The advice in the book applies equally to both fields.It points out that intellectual work requires asceticism and this is quite true in my experience. Many hours must be spent in study and at the lab bench or computer. While interaction with other scholars is part of the reward, one cannot contribute without the solitary hours of reading and writing.The book is somewhat repetitious and, like most French philosophy, highly abstract. Yet it is the only source I have found that addresses the life of the mind so completely.Highly recommended both for those beginning a life of scholarship and for acccomplished scholars who want to reflect on their lives.

The Intellectual Life by Philip Gilbert Hamerton ---Paperback 8x11 By Gary Jedynak Hamerton uses the word 'intellectual' in the circa 1870's European sense. With careful attention to that word and the 19th century authorship, this book's subject matter itself is perhaps the best book of its kind. For those intellectuals seeking guidance or mentors who seeking guidance for their mentees Hamerton's elegant writing style is a delight for all those who are so intrigued. Hamerton wrote several other equally prescient books.Hamerton presents his thesis and personal concern using many short stories about the experience of his friends, acquaintances, and his own life. These individuals had very different beginnings in life yet found themselves on similar trajectories. Many if not most of us might (have) find this book life-changing if read seriously while young. However it is edifying at any age. Hamerton gently reminds us throughout life is short and smart people amidst their dreams often overestimate what they can do in a lifetime. Hence they often make a mess in subsequent shortfalls. As a good example of someone avoiding this consequence of haste in living thoughtfully, Hamerton recounts the wisdom of his father's approach to life.As he used the male pronoun Hamerton throughout, note he writes for both genders (if you read carefully) explaining British culture (~1873) did not recognize female intellectualism. Hence few young women were able to get support for such an orientation. Hamerton clearly observes there was no reason why women could not seek development of a higher intellect. Several of his stories were about young women.On the topic of the welfare of unmarried men, who as men found it easier to develop as intellectuals in 1873 circa Britain, he laments their frustration with finding suitable marriage prospects. These few women would understand and accept their husbands' psychology and be undaunted by their often uncommon personalities. He notes the unliklihood of this type of match might lead to poor alternative choices. Happily for Hamerton he did find just the right woman although late in life.The type font chosen for this publishing, perhaps for economy, has a very thin letter style (ie font weight) and for me is somewhat harder to read. Otherwise this soft cover version is well-made. There are the online versions however as a bookshelf destined gift this book is a classic. There are more recent hardcover reprints. Thus the paperback is a bargain. Otherwise it will be rare book prices for the 1873 printing. Beware there is another book of very similar title but different author. My five star rating is for the original literary work and does not reflect the quality of this particular publication.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Intelligent and timely book By Siobhan Lyons I bought this book off another site after reading a snippet in another book. "The Intellectual Life" is a very shrewd piece of work, the writing both articulate and timely. There is philosophical advice on almost every sort of topic, from intellectual friendships to sickness and solitude to nonconformity. Hamerton's writing is sensible, straight-forward but intelligent, and always insightful. For a book written in the 1800s its commentary on life is still relevant in twenty-first century society. I consult this book quite often and always find myself surprised and amused by what is written. This is a neglected piece of work from a neglected writer in philosophy.

It's like she experienced exactly (nearly 100%) of what I am going through right now. My mouth drops every time I pick up the book to read, reflect and write.
