You see Cash Mason Parker was a classmate of police Chief Carl Carter’s daughter, Olivia. For some unknown reason he had a beef with Mason, as he goes by now, to beat all beefs. On this life changing night it was a few months after Olivia went to a party with Seth’s sister for the soul purpose of getting drunk. You see it was right after her mom passed away and she was to numb out the pain she was feeling. Her dad had pulled into his own shell forgetting that she too had lost someone, her friends didn’t know what to say and she was too scared to ask for help for fear of breaking down and losing it. Something awful happened that night but all Olivia can remember, no matter how hard she tries is a dark shadow looming over her before she passes out. She hears the awful news that Mason and his friends had been arrested for burning down the police station and damaging 2 homes behind it. Almost injuring a family that was inside. Olivia read the report she couldn’t believe it. She went to the trial they all were sent to the Butler Field Juvenile Correctional Facility. Her heart just broke. Now all these years later Olivia was fulfilling the dream she and her mom talked about endlessly for hours on end. Opening the “Forever Wedding Design Shop.” Where she makes beautiful creations that brides can wear on their special day. She used what was at her finger tips to get the word out, multi-media. When she was interviewed one day she created a mystery multi-millionaire boyfriend, actually using Cash as the man of her dreams to be that person especially since now he really did make something of himself and was a millionaire. Even though she’d day dreamt about him she knew he was only a fantasy. Well, her shop that was barely making it was all a buzz now over her little white lie. Only now it was “A-listers” calling to make appointments for her designs. Which put that same multi-media on the hunt for her boyfriend that she really didn’t have, but no one knew that except her business partner. Leaving some to think it was all a hoax. That’s exactly what Mason was counting on. So, he thought what better way to get revenge and get the property where the juvenile facility was. So, not even talking to her he called a press conference and told the world he was the multi-millionaire that she is dating. She was caught off guard when he came to the shop to tell her and the sparks started flying. What makes her the maddest is that she had him in mind when creating this fictional person. I loved the bantering in this story. The two main characters are just still two horny teenagers who never got to do anything about it. Now they are just now trying to play grown-ups with control. Which makes for some funny scenes. Yet, there’s a dark secret that can tear them apart. At the center is Olivia’s father. Olivia is torn between two men she loves. What can she do to make this right? By Splashes Into Books Wrongly accused and convicted of arson as a teenager, Mason and his three friends were sent to a juvenile detention centre. Only three of them survived as one was killed by the guards who were supposed to be looking after them. Now the three are free, they’ve worked hard and Mason is now a millionaire but they still want vengeance for their dead friend.Olivia is the police chief’s daughter and Mason was with her when the arsonists struck. Why did she never speak up in his defence? He always liked her and can’t understand why she never told her Dad the truth. She runs Forever and, in a recent media interview, described her handsome millionaire boyfriend. The problem is he doesn’t really exist but the publicity has been superb for business and now she needs to produce him. This gives Mason the opportunity to make her pay for not speaking up for him but the chemistry between them has always been volatile. Can he get revenge without falling in love with her?This is another totally engaging story from a great author. The characters are well rounded and it easy to empathise with them as they embark on their journey towards their HEA on a route fraught with obstacles and emotional turmoil. It is a great read!Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review.
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. The Millionaire's Forever By Jasmyn9 There were a few things I really loved about this one, and a few things I'd have rather done without. I'm never a big fan of lies, but since this one was just about the relationship to stranger instead of to the people in the relationship, it didn't bother me. It was actually a clever way to drum up business for Olivia, she just didn't think far enough ahead for a way out. This is something that Mason was quick to take advantage of.Mason's reasons for a pretend relationship are much different that Olivia's. Mason is out for revenge - and after hearing his story I totally get why. But Olivia gets caught in the crossfire and he doesn't seem to want to see that. He hurts her a lot by the way he acts, and that made it difficult to like him a whole lot. On the other hand, he really was a good guy that had his outlook on things warped by some bad people.The way some of the issues were resolved (I can't say too much or I risk ruining some things) just didn't seem to feel right. Too much was still left undone or unsaid. While the relationship definitely wrapped up nicely in a bow, the side events that caused all the conflict just didn't give me any real sense of resolution with them*This book was received in exchange for an honest review*

He was a dear friend of our family for years. He never let me know how decorated he was. He was just what the book portrayed. A giant of a man who did not brag about his accomplishments. I know of no other person who won 5 Distinguish Flying Crosses.

Catholic liturgy is far more than its texts. It is a synthesis that also includes several other elements—gesture, music, art, and architecture—which are aspects of the non-verbal language of the sacred and are what make the liturgy beautiful.
Father Lang’s consideration of the beauty of the liturgy addresses the modern notion that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, that the experience of beauty is entirely subjective. This idea makes it difficult to articulate criteria for what is beautiful, yet sacred liturgy does indeed have objective measures for evaluating its principal elements. Reflecting upon these and quoting from authoritative Church documents, Father Lang discusses sacred music, art, and architecture, and demonstrates how the beauty of these elements makes present the sacred.
Pope Benedict XVI said, “The greatness of the liturgy depends—we shall have to repeat this frequently—on its non-spontaneity.” Continuous liturgical experimentation is unable to induce a sense of meaning or peace, writes Father Lang, because novelty does not satisfy the yearning for the Transcendent within the human psyche, which is rarely far from the surface.

Highly academic, perfect for those wanting to understand the liturgy in the modern world By Shaun McAfee Signs of the Holy One is a superior book for many reasons.This is an excellent read for those studying liturgy and want a more academic understanding of the liturgy in its many forms. the book begins with Uwe unraveling the difference between sacred (it's antithesis, the profane) and ritual. Uwe cites the greatest Catholic thinkers of the 20th century including Piper, Ratzinger, and Rahner to provide insight into the proper understanding of sacred and ritual. This becomes the bread and butter for the rest of the book.From there, Uwe explores the liturgy to be found in the various parts of our modern world from contemporary Catholic theology (where he heavily leans on the great Ratzinger), the mass media (where he literally discussed the television of the Holy Mass), sacred art, and architecture. I really loved how Uwe explored each of these subjects with care for preservation of holiness of the Church.This book is a very academic read. I would not call it a contemporary read, or evangelistic. The book is perfectly fit for an individual or curriculum based study on the sacred and ritual liturgy in its various places and uses.

"Daydream Believer" was no different as it too was a brilliant novel from start to finish, and I didn't want to put it down. It was one of those cozy books, where you feel like you're in the middle of the story with the characters- I genuinely cared about them and was sad to finish it! Eve Sheppard is extremely like-able. When her life falls apart all you want to do is help her but of course things never get better until they hit rock bottom.I related to Eve, as many other women in their 20s/30s do. We all have that 'James' in our life and you know how hard it can be to give up on him. We all wish we had a Dan :) Her friends, Katie and Jess, are like your own best friends. It is easy to get lost in Eve's life. Warning: Don't start reading right before sleep as you will stay up way too late!Overall, well-written and a great addition to chick-lit!

I have found another favorite." Daydream Believer" is a fantastic novel.Eve a top of the class English Major comes from a single mothr home and works hard and geets an Oxford degree. She meets James a dreamer. He is the type of person who lives in his dream and lets the world take care of his life for him. After almost twenty years, he has an affair with a younger woman. that is the end of that relationship.Eve who always thought she was a great manager finds herself in immense debt. James out of the picture and no help because he has never been able to help himself is not an option.Eve a best selling chic lit author finds herself without and editor or publisher when her book sales fall.Eva has a support group of three, Her Mom, who is retiired and living on a sparce income and two best friends, both from a more affluent background.Broke, despondent, embarrassed at here situtation and on the verge of homelssness Eve tries to take her situation in hand. And Oh yes, she meets her dream guy but feels he is out of the question because he has been claimed by one of the aforementioned best friends. Eve gets a job as a lowly waitress and still cannot make ends meetThis is the end of any "spoilers" I will give you.To all chic lit lovers, I will say this. I read this novel in two sittings. Two because life required that I had to stop reading for a couple of hours. It is a novel that you will not want to put down. Summertime Reading By Cynthia Harrison Author Anne Mitchell serves up this delicious confection of a novel like a specialty coffee with extra whipped cream. Yet under the yummy fun, there’s a layer of sobering reality. Like Cinderella in reverse, we meet Eve on top of the world, just before she loses everything: her devoted readers, her chic London flat, her Prada handbags, her pride.Eve’s meticulously detailed descent, followed by a masterful raising from the ashes, has the hallmark of a gifted storyteller, Mitchell doesn’t cut overly-entitled Eve any breaks. The larger-than-life aspects (Right out of college, Eve wins a “first novel” competition and becomes rich and famous overnight. Eve meets a wealthy rock star who is immediately smitten with her.) are exhilarating fun. The smack-down hurts, but careless, entitled Eve has it coming.The saving grace for this complexly drawn character is that Eve learns her lesson fast. After a charmed life in the fast lane, she humbles herself right back from where she started, living with her working class single mom, who knows how to make a bone from the butcher into a nourishing soup that will last a week.Eve is a challenging mix and therefore compellingly real. She’s done this to herself, and she needs a reality check. Mitchell delivers the take down with brutal strokes that get it just right. Eve’s plucky reserves of strength help readers feel sympathy for the downtrodden heroine. There’s nothing light and fluffy about Eve’s struggles, but her hard-won second chance is the cherry on top of this winning novel.

What do our myths say about us? Why do we choose to believe stories that have been disproven? David M. Krueger takes an in-depth look at a legend that held tremendous power in one corner of Minnesota, helping to define both a community’s and a state’s identity for decades.
In 1898, a Swedish immigrant farmer claimed to have discovered a large rock with writing carved into its surface in a field near Kensington, Minnesota. The writing told a North American origin story, predating Christopher Columbus’s exploration, in which Viking missionaries reached what is now Minnesota in 1362 only to be massacred by Indians. The tale’s credibility was quickly challenged and ultimately undermined by experts, but the myth took hold.
Faith in the authenticity of the Kensington Rune Stone was a crucial part of the local Nordic identity. Accepted and proclaimed as truth, the story of the Rune Stone recast Native Americans as villains. The community used the account as the basis for civic celebrations for years, and advocates for the stone continue to promote its validity despite the overwhelming evidence that it was a hoax. Krueger puts this stubborn conviction in context and shows how confidence in the legitimacy of the stone has deep implications for a wide variety of Minnesotans who embraced it, including Scandinavian immigrants, Catholics, small-town boosters, and those who desired to commemorate the white settlers who died in the Dakota War of 1862.
Krueger demonstrates how the resilient belief in the Rune Stone is a form of civil religion, with aspects that defy logic but illustrate how communities characterize themselves. He reveals something unique about America’s preoccupation with divine right and its troubled way of coming to terms with the history of the continent’s first residents. By Sandjumper This was well written, interesting, authoritative, and with a style of writing that feels like I was sitting with Krueger at the bar.I admit, being from the "birthplace of America," I had more than casual interest. I grew up with the legends and have heard the Rune Stone debated many times. However, Krueger turns over another stone, focusing on how this legend formed and flourished instead of focusing on the question of legitimacy.I really enjoyed this look at the Rune Stone and the evolution of the story. Most will be pleasantly surprised.

After the heartbreak of Point of No Return, I was set to hate this book.My heart had been steamrolled in teh last two books of this series and I didn't know if I could take reading another book.But, I put my big girl pants on and pre-ordered the book. The Kade fans are of course going to love this book, but what about Blane girls? What's in it for us?Well, the answer, quite simply is plenty. There is plenty in here for us.One of my favorite parts of Blane's Book- Turn on a Dime was the backstory between Kade and Blane. You saw an 18-year old kid take in the half-brother he did not know andgive him a better life. Trust did not come easy for either of them, but slowly they built their relationship into a friendship and then into love. You felt like that there was nothing that would ever come between these two brothers and nothing they would not do for each other. Well, a woman came into the picture that threw that dynamic into complete and utter chaos.That woman, Kathleen, would ultimately change both of their lives.As long as we're being honest, I will tell you that I didn't "hate" Kade until the last book. I thought he came off as cocky, arrogant and totally disrepectful of Blane's relationship with Kathleen. I wondered how he could do all that when Blane had given up so much for him?Well, the story isn't one-sided and in this book, you truly do see the sacrifice that Kade made for his brother. This was a complete game-changer. I don't want to spoil it but Tiffany wrote this so well. You could actually see and feel the love that Kade had for his brother. He gave up a great deal for Blane and Blane's future. Again, i don't want to give up what exactly happens, but true fans of the series will not want to miss this because it EXPLAINS SO MUCH.To me, this series has been just as much about the relationship between these two brothers as it has been about Kathleen's relationship with each of them. I love, love, love when you see Blane and Kade work together and in this book, you get to see that and you get to see Kade help bring Blane slowly back to life after his deployment. In one of the strongest scenes in the book, you see a particularly chilling episode of Blane's PTSD and I am going to tell you I seriously got chills in that moment. My eyes welled up as Kade stood up and was there for his brother. To me, those flashback scenes make this book.Getting to see certain events from Kade's POV were also quite enlightening. His snarkiness is always entertaining and Tiffany can write humor just as well as she writes romance and suspense.Am I happy that this series did not turn out like I wanted? No. To me, Blane was the better guy for her and nothing is going to change my opinion of that. But, in this book, I could see why Kathleen and Kade were attracted to each other.This series has been a big part of my reading life and it has been one of the most emotional roller-coaster reads I've ever written. This series as a whole is amazing. Tiffany created two heroes that ignited passionate fan bases. I am glad that I was able to witness this amazing series and am sad that this is coming to an end. I will miss Kathleen, Blane and Kade and hope that someday, Tiffany will revisit them again. Thank you, Tiffany for three amazing characters and seven great books. I look forward to whatever you write next.

I was very excited for his story to be told. As a reminder, this book is a companion book to book 2, Turn to Me. I did not mind it all all because I absolutely love Kade. I'm not sure how sold I was on him at the beginning, but through the course of this series, he's wormed his way into my heart. I like both Blane and Kade, but Kade is my favorite.This book begins when Kade first meets Kathleen at the courthouse, where is attacked by a psychopath. As soon as he spotted Kathleen, he seemed to fall for her. But of course she isn't even close to being his usual type of woman.Where Kathleen is sweet, innocent, and a bit naive. Kade is the bad boy...cunning and dangerous. Complete opposites.It was great to see Kade's relationship with Blane through his eyes. These two brothers may differ in opinion often, but it is very obvious how much they care about the other and how they would do anything for each other.This book was a great chance to relive the story from Turn to Me in a different way. I enjoyed every page of it. I'm so sad that the series has ended, but look forward to what else Tiffany Snow has in store for her readers.

Team Kade By VROF I'm giving it five stars not because this is the best book in the series, but because the experience of reading this book made me smile. When I was finished, I went back and read the third and 4th books (this means I stayed up all night). There was a lot of retelling of a story we already know, and not the best story in the series. I would have liked this companion piece to span all 5 books and have less duplication of dialogue from a story we had already experienced. For those on Team Blane, Kade's Turn will prove to you once and for all how wrong Blane was for Kathleen and how lucky she was to end up with Kade.I want Blane's happily ever after. I hope Tiffany Snow isn't done with this series. I love these characters.

That being said placing author, Dean Murray in control of our thought processes, we may never settle for ordinary again. He takes us to places that are totally unbelievable and yet very realistic the way he explains it all.He teases us with a thought that good is not always the easiest way, but if we stay true to course, it will always prevail. I have read all of his books, and I have loved all of them. I hope you will take the opportunity to see why I am so in awe about this imaginative author.

At the end of Reborn Selene is fighting with Fenrir and she isn't sure if she is going to make it out alive or not, right before she blacks out she sees a figure (who she believes was Jace at first) stabbing Fenrir in the throat with a sword. However, that figure turns out to be Kyle, someone from her past who she does not remember at all, least alone having a relationship with and being married to. Once again Selene has to face several challenges externally and internally in order for her to make sense of her past life as an Awakened, but as well as understanding what her new role will be within the Awakened world.In Immortal we see Selene grow more as a person as she searches for answers to questions she has about who she was in the past as an Awakened. Just like in Reborn, Selene makes several mistakes along the way,but she isn't perfect and everything about being an Awakened is new to her, so she learns from her mistakes, which in the end makes her a more mature and stronger person than she was in Reborn.Dean has done it again, creating a wonderful and engaging story that takes you deeper into the Awakened world as Selene uncovers more pieces of the puzzle that was her past life. By kwing I received an ARC for free in exchange for my fair and honest review (but let's be honest, I would have purchased it even if I hadn't!)Immortal picks up right where Reborn left off and I was pleased that this second installment did not fall victim to spending a significant amount of time retelling the previous novel then blatantly moving the players around to set up for a cliffhanger that only serves to require the reader to follow the series through to the conclusion. Instead, the characters are provided depth and vibrancy while we watch them struggle with interesting philosophical and moral challenges that provide a greater understanding as to why they are making the decisions they make. Immortal is an amazing novel with exciting twists and turns and I can't help but second guess myself every time I decide who the "bad guys" are.I am wholly enthralled by the way Norse and Arthurian mythology are entwined and cannot wait to read the next installment!
