3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. I'm crushing too! By eBook Addict I have been lost in the tsunami of stepbrother romances that are flooding the market at the moment. Which is kind of ironic, because Nicole Christie wrote one of the best in that genre, long before it was particularly popular. Her debut novel, "Falling for the Ghost of You", was a fantastic read - engaging, sexy and laugh-out-loud funny - and I was in love with her characters and writing. Then along came her follow-up novel and my admiration came to a screeching halt. I really didn't like "Slow Burn". In fact, I was probably its harshest critic, noting that I hoped Ms Christie would go away and regroup before writing her next novel.Well, she regrouped alright. She's probably still out there somewhere holding her middle finger up to my review of her previous novel, because this one is redemption in spades.I loved this story. I started it in the evening and was still reading at 1am - and I'm not a slow reader. At 300+ pages, this is one substantial novel that really delivers. It's witty, credible and home to a host of characters who are believable and (for the most part) very likeable. You don't just get a hot hero and feisty heroine in this tale, you get a very well-rounded, ensemble cast who really help to flesh out the story. Anything written about the celebrity lifestyle can risk being over-the-top and too incredible, but Ms Christie is either a brilliant researcher or more than a little familiar with the reality of being an A-Grade actor. And the sexual tension - oh, my... In keeping with this author's style to date, it takes a while to get to the real action and it's not especially graphic when it gets there, but the build-up along the way is very steady and very satisfying.While the introductory pages were slightly confusing - I couldn't quite work out who everyone was - it quickly became clear and I didn't want this one to end. I wanted to stay in Luke and Andi's world and keep crushing on the hero, too (I had a Hemsworth brother in mind, the whole time ;) ). Very well done, Ms Christie. I am eagerly awaiting your next one!

Extremely entertaining and amusing By RFzizz Take Tarryn Fisher's usual cold-hearted heroines but take away the underlying dark/depressed/tortured undertones and replace it with spunk and you get Andi. She is full of anger, hate possibly a little bit crazy and in need of therapy but she owned it. She was full of spunk and anything that came out of her mind and mouth were incredibly hilarious.This was so entertaining - not very realistic but then stories involving big Hollywood celebrities tend to lean on fairy-tale-ish as opposed to realism, right?My only complaints (albeit minor) were:1. I would have wanted a little more emotional vulnerability from Andi. Empathy (especially on the painful part of the plot) wasn't that strong given that my emotional connection to Andi wasn't so strong. She amused me but I didn't really strongly feel for her and this is because as she herself said "she has a pathologically thick skin"2. I would have wanted Luke's character to be more fleshed out. He had personality but she completely eclipsed him.

Nicole Christie 's books are such a great experience to read. I've read some comments on other books she had previously written. And I've seen some of the comments like her characters have verbal diarrhea, or its not age appropriate. And I whole heartily disagree. The verbal diarrhea is what makes you laugh out loud. Everyone has thoughts like the main character in her books. It is so hard to find books that can make you laugh hysterically out loud, make you swoon, and be heartfelt as well. The only problem with this author is I can't find a fan page or fb page to see when she is putting out new books. She is one of the authors I am always searching on my kindle just to see if she put a book out. I highly recommend this book to anybody who likes romantic comedies that actually make you laugh.

So he turns to the bottle to help deal with the hurt. So he is shocked when his assistant shows up after he has had a bit too much.Ivy gives off the impression of a sweet fragile woman but underneath everything she has some steel in her spine. She has been in love with Gabe for years but he has never seen her in that way. She decides that she is going to be m ore outgoing and confident to try and gain his attention.Gabe is seeing Ivy in a new light he likes seeing the fiery side of her personality and he is wondering why he never noticed before. Ivy however has inadvertently drawn the eye of a creepy stalker with a love of roses and poetry. This story develops nicely and had me unable to put it down.However I am not going to lie I was heartbroken toward the end I did not see that happening. Great Read and looking forward to more. I would love to know more about Kai.

I could tell he liked it, the way his eyes lingered on my hips and breasts made me feel feminine and sexy. ‘God you’re gorgeous, Angel, I can’t take my eyes off you.’”4 undeniable stars!! Super sexy and passionate book!Gabe is still trying to mend his heart after his girlfriend left him for another guy. He drowns his sorrows in alcohol at a local bar every night and the bar owner is fed up with it. He calls his personal assistant in to take Gabe home. Ivy shows up and takes him home, but she has a secret she’s had a crush on Gabe for awhile now, so she’s more than happy to help Gabe however she can. She’s sick and tired of Gabe not noticing her, so she kicks it into high gear, he’s going to notice her if it’s the last thing she does.This book, yes was slightly predictable, but it was cute and had it’s moments of pure passion!! I was intrigued and entertained throughout the book.

Ivy has worked as Gabe's assistant for a while all the while loving him from a distance.. After she rescues him from a night of drinking all night Ivy has decided that she will be not hide herself or her feelings anymore!!!I found myself falling in love with this story one word at a time. I absolutely loved the chemistry between these two. Gabe the protector and Ivy the woman he wants to save!!! This book just really pulled me in and with its nice twists and turns. It kept me wanting more and unwilling it put it down...I really hope the author plans to do more with this series because I really loved it!!!!

The book contains fact about men and how to deal with it properly to enhance the relationship. Well this book helped my wife understand me more than before. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Courage in the Face of Adversity By Rochelle Fields Pathways of the Heart is a loving tribute to the author’s mother, Clella. Ms. Yates tells the story with affection and honesty of a woman who faced the struggles of the depression, an unfaithful husband and the challenge of raising six children virtually by herself. I wept with Clella as she battled loneliness in the midst of primitive conditions. In the end I admired the courage this tender human being to own up to her choices and to call upon God’s help to rise above them.

The third book in the Dangerous Curves series features Aidan, DC’s bartender, finally getting the chance to be with Gabi Torres. Unfortunately, it’s because she’s the inadvertent witness to a murder by the Prez and VP of the Fallen Angels MC. But in between death threats, there’s time for romance.The Good, The Bad and Everything In Between-Another good Marysol James series: I’ve only read the Enemy Series and a couple of books in this Dangerous Curves series (I can’t believe I missed the second book), but I’ve liked what I’ve read. Each series has good alpha heroes paired with strong women who have overcome some serious health and emotional issues. The stories are more realistic than your average OTT romance fantasy and in each series is more like a continuing drama. The advantage to this is getting a chance enjoy the HEAs for each couple, even after their particular book is done. Their lives intersect seamlessly and those serious issues are dealt with in a more realistic timeframe than you normally get in a standalone book. However, I really think it helps to read the books in order so that you’re not spoiled on big plot points.-More action than usual: All of that character driven drama usually has the more “action-packed” moments happening off-page, which I’ll admit has been a minor disappointment of mine. However, due to the immediate physical threat that Gabi’s under, this book has a more urgent feel to it, with more action happening on-page. The tension regarding when the MC would strike to get Gabi built throughout and while a big part still happened somewhat off-page, it seems to happen in another book belonging to another series of Ms. James (Open Skies). I like the idea of tying these two series together and it’s intriguing me enough that I want to check Open Skies out. Well played, Ms. James, well played.-Gabi and Aidan’s love story was pretty straightforward: I really liked Gabi and Aidan, two likeable characters who know what they want and they want each other. There are no prevaricating or wishy washy moments. They’ve both been attracted to each other for years and are willing to dive right into a relationship. That said, I would have liked some tension. Not alot, just a little in the buildup. Even the final climactic sequence was handled very realistically, and there's a bittersweet hopeful kind of ending, but but oddly I was a bit down when all is said and done. Sometimes, you really do want a bit of escapism and drama, and this isn’t quite it.The Bottom LineIf you like a more grounded type of romance series, the kind where you get to know all the characters and there’s little to no WTF-ery, I’d recommend it.

I really enjoyed the characters--I especially liked how the H, Aiden, was imperfect in his career as a DEA agent. The h, Garbriella, seemed very down to earth to me and was very likable. Even though the couple knew each other for 3 years, the relationship moved pretty quickly once it started. Very good and exciting action and suspense. I also felt the story arcs of previous couples were better incorporated in this plot line--sometimes I feel these aspects are out of place with in other books from this author.

I love the way Marysol James interacts the other characters without rehashing all of their stories trying to make filler. Can't wait for May.
