2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Fun - at least at first By Book Gannet This sexy paranormal was great fun – at the beginning. The idea of an agency that helps vampires, demons and weres to leash their inner beast so they can date is cute, and the original introduction to the place was great. Poor Eric walks in, gets mistaken for someone else and told to strip. The fun continues as the mistake is discovered and Eric gets to the real reason why he’s there – he’s fed up of being the nice guy who always finishes last. You’d think a descendant of Cupid would have women clamoring after him, but what Eric wants is one who will stick.Luckily for him Becca is a witch with a few potions up her sleeve. Well, her mother’s potions, because she’s not much of a witch herself, but that’s fine, they’ll work it out. Hopefully.As I’ve already said, the start of this book is so much fun. Okay, perhaps I wasn’t impressed with Becca’s lack of studying (surely in her business knowing a few spells would be useful, rather than having to rely on her mother all the time), and her drooling over certain aspects of Eric were a little OTT – especially the sniffing – but it’s flirty and funny and there’s plenty of hot fantasies on both sides before they actually get down to things.And that’s where things started to unravel for me. Becca has some serious – and understandable – insecurity issues, which got annoying quite fast. No wonder Eric ended up hurt and confused. One minute she’s all over him, the next she’s running for the hills. The first time was sort of understandable, but the second was just irritating. Then her behavior becomes full of self-pity. No doubt Eric was moping around some too, but we don’t have to put up with that, we just get Becca’s pity party. Luckily her friends aren’t interested – well, except for drippy Heather – but it was just all a bit much for me. I would also have liked to have seen more of the agency and what they do there.In all it was okay. The early promise didn’t stretch to the end for me, but there is fun to be had here and it crams some serious heat into its few pages. I’m curious enough to keep an eye out for the next one.(I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.)

Enter Eric, the nice guy always getting his heartbroken. He comes to Magic for some help, but what happens when you mix lust and magic? Can you be sure it's real or are other causes to blame. Mecca is a great character that I easily related to. Eric is incredible and oh the things he can do. You get caught up on the hot sex scenes!!! I am looking forward to this series. A must read.

When a client comes in and is mistaken for someone else, things get out of hand very quickly. Her normally indomitable control is shaken by this very sexy customer who happens to be descended from the Greek God Eros himself. Instant attraction, a pair of sexy underwear, cupid tattoos and some freaky potion magic make this book a page turning experience.Eric is too nice and he hates getting dumped by every woman he comes across. When he stops in to the From Crud to Stud dating service and claps eyes on its curvy, sexy owner Becca Salt, he can’t think of anything better than to pin her to the table and douse his good boy image for good. Spellcasting hijinks ensue and Eric has to decide if his original intent is really what he wants or if she is already right under his nose.Funny, sexy and ice melting, this book made me laugh, cry a little and want to keep reading long after the last page was done. A great mix of humor, seduction, mythology, witchcraft, bloopers and some good Italian food just rounded it off for keepers. Tina Donahue is now on my must read list and I really hope there will be more stories based on this novel. Loved it!The sex scenes were hot, the humor just perfect and being a curvy girl myself, I can identify with some of the body issues Becca experienced. Could he really love her or is it just the potion talking? To find the answer to that is the biggest risk of all, but for true love it’s all worthwhile.A hot read to melt your blah’s away!originally posted long and short reviews

References of paper routes and "kick the can" take you on the true life growing up and finding ones self journey of the author. The chaotic world of mental disease will ring true to those who grew up in dysfunctional families while believing everyone else had a "normal" life. Not to mention the whole Catholic upbringing in middle America. I found my self laughing, crying and rooting for author to conquer his demons. Well done!!

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. worth a read By Joseph Messner I wasn't quite sure initially what to think of this book when I bought it, but the brief description that I had previously read intrigued me enough to give it a try. I enjoyed several things: the nostalgia of Akron, Ohio in the 60's and 70's, the description of a family dealing with mental health, and the process of growing up and finding one's self. It's a very personal read, much more so than I expected, but that only serves to create a real life human story of all it ups and downs.

It was intriguing to have such a successful CEO share fearlessly, including things I would think twice about telling close friends. I particularly love the self-reflection that is woven throughout the book, where Bruce humbly questions the contributions each of the memories have had on his personality, skills, and perspective as an adult and leader. Great read that left me wanting to know more about Bruce's life; and made me want to write and reflect on my own impactful childhood moments. Thank you, Bruce!

I liked how Michael brought Randy & Adele together. I liked Randy's character. Randy was very funny she made me laugh. I liked how Randy helped Adele. This was a cute, short story to read.

It is a self-help book that many people can relate to, including me; in fact I was rather surprised at how much I had in common with Shawna. While some of my situations weren’t nearly as bad as hers, I to had lost quite a bit of myself and my worth and did not know what to do about it.This book was a great step by step guide to doing Cognitive Mirror Therapy to start helping you recover and rebuild. I think it was properly written with the author sharing plenty of her own past and experiences to teaching others how to get to the healthy point that she has.The topics discussed in this book are very serious and many may find them very emotional. I personally found myself crying or tearing up at certain things that I had either gone through or could relate to. I believe that this book can certainly help many people out there, especially ones that are too afraid to ask for help, like I was.It says all it needs to say in the title, ‘Never Ashamed Never Alone’ with this book you don’t have to be ashamed of your past or habits you have picked up because of it and you are never alone because you have others backing you and you have all the guidance you need to become a new you,A fantastic and encouraging read from Shawna and I cannot wait to read more of her work.

I would strongly suggest reading the others in this series, but it is not a necessity in order to enjoy this story. loved Daniel and Rona's story. They are two strong-willed, stubborn, passionate characters, who are bound together by King, country and love.Filled with tension, passion, betrayal,suspense, danger and a well blended romance. A very exciting, intriguing take of Medieval Scotland, the turmoil within and struggles of the Scottish people. And, a Falcon, and of Rona's passion and love for this forbidden bird and the friends who taught her the taming of a Falcon, at great risk to themselves.A compelling, passionate, tale of the Clan Sinclair, the bravery of both their men -at -arms, their clan, and the women who love them. A must read for fans of Scottish Historical Romance. Who doesn't love a man in a kilt and the strong-willed, feisty women who love them. By MSPS HIghlander's Reckoning by Emma Prince is another winning tale within the theme of Robert the Bruce's efforts to establish his kingdom during the war between Scotland and England. The setting of this story is the importance of the use of castles in waging war. Bruce send's one of his most trusted warriors, Daniel Sinclair to take over Bruce's castle in the Lowlands of Scotland and hold it safely for him. The Bruce has also commanded Daniel to marry Rona Kennedy, daughter of the current custodian of the castle. Neither one of the two have any desire to become married but must obey the king's command.This story was predictable, and has been written thousand's of times in many ways which was quite disappointing to this reader. However, Prince does manage to develop an interesting schism into the relationship between the Daniel and Rona, and the plot of the story is then the development of trust between the two of them. Daniel is an interesting character and manages to overcome his own pride and temper to win his stubborn, smart, fiery bride's heart and allegiance.This account is fairly historically accurate (see disclaimers by author). It was well written and edited. The story flowed smoothly shifting easily from scene to scene allowing the reader to maintain clarity of thought and the spelling was correct. All in all this is a good tale. The only reason I rated this book a four is because it just did not challenge my thinking. It was a nice predictable love story, with a little action by the highland warriors. If one is new to this genre of tales it may be enough for a five rating from them but not for this reader. Prince is a master author by now and I would expect a more depth and insight from her to make this an exceptional tale deserving of a five star rating. (Read Golden Desires by Elizabeth Francis for an example of what I consider a worthy five star story.) Prince can do this!Having said that, I read this book for free on my "read it free with Kindle ebooks" so I didn't have to pay for it so I was not too disappointed.All in all a good love story, but failed to have the substance I desired. Emma Prince, give me a great one please!

Ever since the first story: Highlander's Ransom I was hooked. Although I knew the villain had to have his comeuppance at some point, it was a true delight to read each individual story about each of these strapping young warriors and their smart, determined, and equally challenging women. Also, I loved the oh so steamy sex scenes!The whole of the trilogy was immersed in a troubled period of Scottish history that gives these stories and additional boost. By the vivid description of the surroundings while traveling to either destinations, it's easy to see yourself tagging along these enthralling characters, eager to find out what's next. I thoroughly recommend these stories as a must read if you want to be deliciously entertained. I am eager to read something more out of the pen of Ms. Prince.
