I dislike manipulation of a writer. If the writing and story is good then there is no reason for misleading the readers.Out of the few reviews posted ,no one mentioned that the story is continued. I find that odd.

I have just finished reading the book and I must say that only three words come to mind...OH MY GOODNESS!!! I am a kindergarten teacher and have had to space my reading times out between riding lesson plans, grading papers, and cutting out things that I have laminated… But during those times that I have been able to sit down and read I have not been able to put this book down!!! For me the author grabbed my attention from page 1 and kept it all the way through to the end! I guess I'm a sucker for heartbreaking love stories... With this book, he author delivers drama, suspense, and hot, HOT PASSION!Vera and Sebastian have a love story that so many of us wish that we had! The author has given them both such horrific paths end tragic losses... That as their love story unfolds and you see their hearts and souls begin to heal and knit back together , that your own spirit begins to breathe a sigh of relief end rejoice right along with them! You will laugh with this book , cry with this book, and even find yourself holding your breath a th as you read through certain passages. I have found a million different things that have made me to fall in love with this author and the new characters that she err has so beautifully painted and brought to life for me!! By Maria Caridad Lopez III Josh David has laid out all the important characteristics of the garden-variety psychopaths and the inevitable harm they heaps upon their partners in the relationship cycle of idealization, devaluation, and discarding. Josh writes in layman's terms the effect of deception, covert and overt abuse, manipulation, and pathological lying have on the partner's psyche. He discusses specific steps to take to break free of the trauma bond and begin walking the path towards a healthy life and healthy relationships. It's important to note that this book is written in terms that a person fresh out of an abusive relationship can read without the dry clinical terminology and confusing verbiage. It is obviously written by a thoughtful and caring person who wishes to give something to those who are feeling pain and confusion.

As human beings we long to be with someone and have an emotional connection to them to give and receive love and sometimes things do not work out as planned but this book is a great hope and reassurance that their is something called happily ever after but it comes with a lot of hard work and dedication. I love how the author stated their is no Mr. Perfect because no is perfect we all have our faults and if we look for perfection in someone we will be disappointed. I love this book and the contents the author has written about . It is a practical guide to relationship happiness.

Excellent book By Vera Finding a good and reliable partner can be very difficult for women and due to that this box set is a great beginning for women who would like to be in happy and fulfilling relationships. Yes he was a douche but he has a sincerity about him, Slade loves that girl like nothing else, and as hard as it was to read about their break-up I think it needed to happen, for them to be able to move on. The both realised just how much they each meant to one an other.Slade is very astute, knows what the right thing to do at the tight time, well maybe not always the right time.They really do deserve each other. Ried's true colours surfaced didn't they? but suffice to say he actually saw that he could break break through the epic love shared by these two very special people.My estimation of Mike went down on the Richter scale, he was being an over bearing bully and Slade did himself proud by standing up for what he believed in.I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him.Skye and Carson had very much a supporting role in this installment, and their love is growing stronger all the time.I wondered how Roland was going to deal with his feelings, he is a lovely guy and I hope everyone remembers that when they all find out.Thomas, oh WOW! that was a tough time for him, he was rather short and obnoxious towards Theo, but it goes to show how much Theo has grown.I thought William would make an appearance, i tend to agree with Conrad though, Beatrice has taken this too far.Ahh, Arsen what a transformation. I hope he is a strong and patient man, as I have a feeling once Silke catches onto what's been happening, it could get ugly, even though she does miss him she has Pike around. That's going to be a devastating blow when Arsen finds out.Loved that we got more of the 'Oldies' they brought an element of wise-ness to this installment.I really like Ward, but I think he is going to be his own worse enemy. Even though he and Clementine are good together I don't think she will appreciate being pushed into a corner.This gets better with each installment, loving it.

I like seeing Slade make the decision to finally marry Trinity but just hope that it is more about love than just getting her back. I really wanted to see Arsen and Silke finally see each other again, as well as more into Roland and Heath. I feel like Cayson and Skye are taking a back seat and really want more of their story.

Though Montaigne may be acknowledged as the godfather of the formal essay, it is unlikely that anyone will be so crowned as the inventor of the blog - because simply there is no fixed model. Blogs are entirely what their authors make of them. They do not submit to a rule of 140 characters. The subject matter can slot into defined categories or be freewheeling and fancy free. The length of a post can vary from single sentences to pages. The particular nature of the blog is that it is not one single piece but rather a series of posts. And they are as much a journey of discovery for the author as for the reader. These (160 odd) posts were recorded over a two year period. About the Author

Sharon Sala is a long-time member of the Romance Writers of America, as well as a member of Oklahoma RWA. In 2014, she published her one-hundredth novel. She has been homeless, and hungry, so she has a special interest in the many homeless people around the city. Now she has heard about a man calling himself the "Sinner" they say he claims to have died and gone to hell, and now he is helping others. But she is having no luck finding him.Benjamin North is a detective, he knows who January is, and has found himself very attracted to her, but she is media and every cop knows not to get involved with the media. However, his job and hers seem to collide while he works a missing persons case.Both January and Ben find that some attractions are to much to avoid. When January shares some of her thoughts on the missing men, she and Ben are forced into a unit with his superior and his partner because she has thoughts but no proof. To find the proof they need, she may have to put herself in the line of fire.Very intriging plot, with a breathtaking ending. I loved it. Sharon Sala is great.

Someone using the name Sinner abducts homeless males, but only those whose name is that of an Apostle. She is not sure what this self-anointed preacher has done with THE CHOSEN ones as no major increase in homicides has been reported though Brother John is dead.January reports her theory to homicide detective Ben North, who in spite of seeing her recent anger and frustration over the murder of a twelve year old girl not related to this case, rejects her assertion as ridiculous. Instead he assumes that she is just another insensitive muckraker trying to get a reputation through a sensational though untrue story. She continues to dig deeper until the Sinner becomes aware of her actions. He plans a special sacrifice for the nosy woman who somewhat persuades Ben to take a chance on her. Ben still has major doubts, but admits to himself that he desires the reporter; she reciprocates but refuses to use her body to convince him that the Sinner exists.THE CHOSEN is a graphic crime thriller with a touch of the seemingly paranormal and a romantic subplot that plays a back role to the activities of the Sinner. The story line grips the reader as the Sinner's plans start to become known to the audience and January. The lead couple is a likeable pair who is attracted to one another though he does not believe her pleadings as he assumes she is self grandstanding to further her career. Though the biblical references are overkill, fans of dark thrillers will want to read this one, but keep the lights on afterward.

By Amazon Customer I have read everything Sharon Sala (AKA Dinah McCall) has ever written and this the first book that I am not sure if i'll be rereading. The basic plot of the book was good but I felt the romance was rushed and a bit off and the ending left a few loose ends in my opinion. It was a good read but NOT the great read I have come to expect from Ms. Sala. Hope her next offering in April 2006 written under Dinah McCall is better!

Drake Although Van Cleve is not an archaeologist or a professional Mayan scholar, she has a personal connection to Copan and has studied it at some length. I have read a number of books on the city and the Mayan culture by the principal scholars that have written about them, so I have some familiarity with this area.The main point I want to make about the book is that it is not for the average reader who plans to visit Copan or just wants to learn something about Copan or the great city’s kings. A book that discusses Copan’s rulers and is much more suited to the casual reader is Chronicle of the Maya Kings and Queens by Simon Martin and Nikolai Grube (second ed.), and even that may be too detailed for some people. For an overview of Capan, William Fash’s Scribes, Warriors and Kings: The City of Copan and the Ancient Maya (revised ed.) might be of interest.Van Cleve’s book is like a lengthy research paper with an analysis of Copan’s hieroglyphs much more suited to a Copan researcher than the general public. (The author seems to acknowledge this in her preface, when she writes, “This book offers many significant advantages to the scholar.”) Although I am going to Copan in a few months and have studied a lot about that city, The Kings of Copan was too detailed and, in parts, too analytical for me to finish. This is not a criticism of the book. It is just to say that its focus was beyond me. What I would recommend to the author is that she make it clear on the back cover who her intended audience is. She could also state this more directly in the preface.The book appears to be very thorough, but I do not have the scholarly background necessary to assess its quality. It is obvious that the author has put an enormous amount of work into it. A friend of mine, who did field work at Mayan sites with Linda Schele and Peter Mathews, and who has extensively studied the Maya, was not impressed with The Kings of Copan. He does not like the style of her presentation and does not feel that the book is of the same quality as that of professional Mayan scholars or that the author makes a significant contribution beyond the work already done by Schele and Mathews (The Code of Kings, etc.), Bill Fash, and other professionals. Regarding the writer’s presentation style, I think my friend’s concern is that the book combines a narrative and an analytical (re: hieroglyphs) approach. A book for scholars might best be served by just focusing on hieroglyphs and the author’s interpretations. (It is true that books like Linda Schele’s and David Freidel’s A Forest of Kings and Maya Cosmos combine narrative [some of which is creative fiction] with scholarly research, but they appeal to a broader audience than just other scholars. Even the Code of Kings differs from The Kings of Copan. Schele and Mathews are not debating the meaning of specific glyphs and presenting analytical research papers.) Frankly, I would feel better about van Cleve’s book if it included endorsements by respected authorities in the field, and I encourage the author to work on getting several. Barbara or Bill Fash would be near the top of the list for meaningful endorsements, but endorsements by any respected archaeology professors who specialize in the Maya and are acquainted with the reading of Mayan hieroglyphs would be helpful. She could easily add the endorsements to her book as well as her Amazon page without having to do a revised edition. My concern is that her own credentials are, at best, rather weak (a master’s degree in Medieval history and a background in military intelligence). (Weak or “non existent” credentials do not necessarily mean that the book is inadequate, although it makes it more likely in the case of a book of this nature. But without a good resume, good endorsements would give the book credibility and would reassure a researcher that it is worth his/her time. Aside from the time involved for a researcher to study this book, it is relatively expensive.)I am not sure how many Amazon stars to give The Kings of Copan. I do not feel I am a fair judge of that. My decision on 3 stars is based, in part, on my friend’s assessment, and, in part, on the absence of a credible endorsement. What prompted me to even write a review, although this is not a very thorough one, is the fact that the only other review the book currently has – one which was a factor in my buying the book to begin with - would lead the average reader to think they might enjoy this book. I want to correct that impression.

Huff Blessed to have been early involved with Janice Van Cleve's work, I find this latest addition a charming expansion and exploration. This is an intricate web of inter-connections between events, places, objects, and individuals. Nothing escapes her. Beyond that, all her books do better than most to bring an authentic feel to historical descriptions--life in a time so long ago. Nothing is dry or mundane in her re-creations. This is due, of course, to the author's relentless adoration of research but also to her ability to live in the times she studies. This is a person who brings the magic of sensing herself right into her era and area. She sets the puzzle of discoveries together with a zest, showing the reason for her passion in telling these stories. Another home run, Janice!
