About the Author Annette Reynolds is a South Carolinian by birth and by choice. She has visited forty states (so far), several countries, and finds there is no place like home. She is an educator by training and a writer by inclination after retiring from her thirty-year career. She declared her faith in 1971 and continues to work on being a Baha'i. While on a Baha'i pilgrimage in Haifa, Israel, in 1975, she sought guidance. One question she prayed about was, should she leave South Carolina and pioneer to an American Indian reservation? After speaking with international leaders of the Baha'i faith serving in the Holy Land, it was clear she would remain in South Carolina.

Her life reflected God's love By amp This book reflects a "ton" of good research, as well as stories about the growth of the Baha'i Faith in South Carolina from the author's own experience and shared stories from other personal friends of Trudy. If the reader knew Trudy, then her strong, unique, delightful personality is clearly recognized through the author's artful telling of these stories. If not known in life, the reader will now come to know, appreciate and love Trudy through the reading this book.

I strongly identified with the process where the author skillfully compiled scores of first hand accounts, putting them all in chronological order. I, myself, am struggling on my first book using the genre of memoir which I detected throughout TRUDY AND THE BAHA'IS' SPIRITUAL PATH IN SOUTH CAROLINA. The Baha'is in Reynold's hometown of Orangeburg, SC wish the author great success in letting the spiritually hungry Southerner know about this 2015 publication.Indeed, Reynolds, has crafted a tour de force weaving the stories of many Baha'is, both indigenous and out of state, some as far away as the Caribbean, Europe, Africa and Asia. For Baha'is live the life "that the earth is one country and mankind its citizens" which a California transplant to South Carolina, Trudy White, gave witness. Although today the Baha'i Faith has grown just in the United States to well over 200,000 with South Carolina officially listed as the second most numerous religion following Christianity. I myself became a Baha'i in 1971 and was registered in the 32,000s. The decades Trudy was in here were seminal for this outstanding growth to occur.Even though I was not a participant during most of those years, the whole Baha'i World of five milllion was electrified by what was happening in S.C. Reynolds has taken much raw data organizing it skillfully into nine chapters, five appendices, sources, general index, index of names and photographs, The pages of this chronicle are archival quality for the reader interested in the growth of the Baha'i Faith in less than 200 years,The Central Figure, Trudy White, was so humble, constantly of service, doing non glamorous spade work in the vineyard of life, that most of the Baha'is know very little about her background that has now been addressed. Perhaps this is a fulfillment of Biblical Prophecy that the last shall be first and the first shall be last. As a Special Educator, Reading Teacher, retired, I always recommend that one peruse and dip from the back to the front, wetting one's appetite to read with well thought out questions to be answered. I am most grateful being an Amazon Prime member that I was able to get this book delivered to my house in three days for under twenty dollars. It has a permanent place on our library shelf next to Louis Venters, NO JIM CROW CHURCH, which as a prequel stops in the 1960s. .

By Sawyer Belle I very rarely give five stars unless a work completely sucks me in, keeps me engaged and blows me away, and for the first 50% of this book, I knew I was giving it 5 stars. Where it lost that fifth star was in the last 40%.Baylor Mitchell is the antithesis of every person, every female, in Gavin McBride's world. He comes from old Texas money and she comes from a salt-of-the-earth family of hardworking American Dream earners. When they (and their worlds) collide on a college campus, it sets off a beautifully-written and enchanting love story. The romance blossomed in a natural progression, with plenty of sweet/cute moments, laugh out loud moments, and plenty of moments of raw passion.As admitted in the Book Description, the couple is torn apart by a lie and the second half of the tale is about the couple reclaiming their long lost love.The first part of the book is written entirely from Gavin's POV, and the author's handling of it was clever and believable, with humor reminiscent of the book Tangled. The constant "dick twitching" was just a tad excessive, but again - it's from the male POV so is likely spot on. :)I absolutely loved watching Baylor and Gavin fall in love. I loved watching that love transform him, and I kept holding my breath, waiting for "the lie" that tore them apart. The problem with "the lie" when it came was that the author had developed such a strong, sure bond and relationship between the hero and heroine that it seemed unbelievable that they would instantly turn from thinking the world of each other to thinking the worst. And with a villain so obvious as well. But new adults don't always make the wisest of choices.The reconciliation in the second half is pretty swift and, therefore, the book could have been wrapped up around the 60-70% mark, in my opinion. I'm not saying that the last 40% of the book wasn't entertaining. It was just a little irrelevant and seemed more like just a bunch of stuff happening.When you fall in love with a story and you get that feeling of "I wish it would never end," it's always a treat when the author takes you a bit beyond that moment of the HEA. For me, the last 40% of the book took us beyond the moment we knew the H/h would be together forever. It just took us a little too far beyond it until I really did want it to end. Not in a bad way. I still always loved the characters, but it got to a point of "okay - I'm ready for closure now."Now that I've given my criticism, I must follow it up by saying that this is the best book I've read this year, and quite possibly the best in the last 7 months. Samantha Christy is a writer who I fully expect to transcend the indie sphere. Her talent deserves it, and I will be picking up her other books, for sure. In her Acknowledgments, she thanked her betas for helping her put out a book that could rival a traditionally-published novel, and she is absolutely right. It could.Without hesitation, I recommend this book 100%.

Baylor's POV was ok, but Gavin's POV was filled with tired cliches By RedRedtheycallmeRed This book takes place in present day and eight years earlier, when the characters were in college. I liked parts of the present day stuff, but I hated the college stuff.Let's see how many tired NA cliches the "past" chapters held:Manwhore H? Check.Blushing virgin h? Check.Unicorn h? Check. (She didn't wear makeup! She wasn't clingy! She ate burgers and fries! Instead of designer dresses she wore Dr. Suess t-shirts and converse! She was Just. So. Real.)All other women besides the h were disposable sluts or scheming bitches? Check.A huge misunderstanding that could have been resolved with a 30 second conversation? Check.I've read this so many times already, there isn't anything new here, and I was bored. Thankfully, eight years later changes from Gavin's POV to Baylor's and the book got better. Baylor's skittishness was relatable, she hasn't seen/heard from this guy in eight years, she really doesn't know him anymore. But the fact that Baylor (a published author with 13 books) and Gavin (a film producer) were both staunchly avoiding social media for eight years is way too implausible. COME ON! Little things like this add up to major eye rolls.Baylor's BFF Callie was annoying in her judgmental-ness, why does she keep taking Gavin's side when she doesn't even know him? It's been TWO MONTHS after nothing for eight years and she accuses Baylor of "stringing him along"? That's a crappy friend. Baylor didn't just have herself to consider and I thought it was wise to think things through.The end of the book shifts back to Gavin's POV. I liked Baylor's thoughts on where home was for her and how money (and ocean views) can't buy that. The epilogue was sweet and exactly how I thought it would end.

I saw the book last night while perusing my kindle unlimited options and the first review I saw said something lie "Best book I've read in 2015." That review is the truth. I've read hundreds of books and although there have been many that stand out, Purple Orchids is the best book I have read to date. My stomach had butterflies and my chest pinched from reading the narrator's words. I highly recommend Purple Orchids and I am downloading another Samantha Christy book as I type! Great read!

As with his other books concerning that war it is well researched and composed for the reader to understand the subject matter.Yes it is "smaller", but contains a great amount history in it size.

I thought it was awful. The main character is so annoying - constantly moaning, groaning and crying. Literally. I lost track of how many times the author uses the words "moan" and "groan" - get a thesaurus! Laurel is so weak: she is constantly being babied by her deceased grandmother's housekeeper whom she just met. Then there is the plot. Is it a paranormal romance? Yes. A spy thriller? Sort of. A murder mystery? Kind of. A family drama? That too! The author just threw every conceivable plot into the mix. It's a muddled mess. Then there is the rotating points of view which are not used to much effect other than to dilute all plots and ruin any narrative flow. I won't even get into the insta-love plot with the dream lover. He also babies her. Blech. If you are looking for a paranormal romance with ghosts I recommend Lyla Payne's Low Country series. This is a mess.

Marlin I thoroughly enjoyed Mimosa Grove and went searching to find more books by Sharon Sala; I found several and made a purchase, which didn't disappoint. I could visualize the characters from her descriptions and felt that I was in the events as they occurred. The book is well-written and would definitely recommend it.

I don't know how Sharon does it but she pulls you right into her story's. People still think to this day that people can't predict the future but I truly believe God gives some this gift to benefit others.
