She holds a masters degree in American studies, specializing in cemetery landscapes and is a member of the Association for Gravestone Studies. She currently works for Missouri State Parks and lives in the St. Louis area. Lorelei Shannon has been Victorias friend for thirty-five years and counting. They share a love of dark history and co-authored a book on the life of Madame Lalaurie.

5 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Truly a mess By Lin-( Nerdy Bookworm) I'm extremely surprised at all the good reviews this book got. I managed to finish this book, but it was really out of curiosity. The first novel was better than this one while this storyline was weak and unfinished with unrealistic characters with unrealistic events. It's just all kind of middle of the road, trudging along and having sex like bunnies.The book was hurried to compact several thing going on while confusing the reader and losing the true plot.

4 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Stephanie: Ungrateful, Inconsiderate, Selfish By VivLA Uh, we get two names in this book (Stephanie, the heroine and Prescott, the criminal). It's more than we got for the other books in the series.This story started off interesting with the assassin scoping out his target, Stephanie, who seems very nice in that part. Then the book went downhill from there. They are forced to spend time together because he is trying to keep her safe, but they can barely tolerate each other. And that's after they had sex. Stephanie is a target hunted by at least three different factions and she blames him for her predicament. Never mind that he saved her life and faked her death so that she could have a chance to live. But because she had to give up her family, her friends and her job she hates him for it. I guess if he would have killed her instead she would have kept everything...stupid woman. At one point, she's so pissed off, she rides him gets her release then walks away, leaving him unsatisfied. She's selfish, inconsiderate and ungrateful. I could barely finish reading this book and almost stopped a couple of times, but I wanted to see how they would get out of the situation with the contract killers.

This is a love story wrapped around a suspenseful drama with lots of surprises. And oh yeah some misdirection thrown in there too. Again I only have the name of one of the main characters Stephanie however our Alpha male assassin no name was ever given. I know that was weird ! However it works it definitely adds to the suspense of the story. I don't want to give away the story but definitely our assassin finds redemption at the end of the story! Aimed at the person who is seeking to understand more of what motivates them. The book is designed to stimulate self contemplation, to cut through the clutter of life to its core values and meanings to you. The initial chapters are most thought provoking. For someone looking to work in media professions, the book will offer insights that could improve your active listening skills as well.For me the book too quickly moved to exercises,although they are interspersed with more insights. The book is laid out to allow you to write in the book, basically the pauses in the reading/tapes where you explore the meaning for you. For me the spaces allowed were way too small,but logically cannot be bigger as the book would then be too large with empty pages. I found overly constricting the request to select just one dream, one favorite story, five greatest insights. Another day I would make different selections.I would recommend this book as a fairly complete step by step self-analysis programme, with the second-question slant that I have not seen elsewhere.
