By Amy Rogers Penelope Ward you blew me away! There really are no amount of words that you can use to adequately describe this book. Reading this book was bittersweet knowing that this book was the last of the series. I was both sad for it to end because I knew that there would be no more books from this series yet eager for it to end to see how their lives turned out. Penelope did not disappoint. Jake Undone was my first book that I read by Penelope where I met and fell in love with Jake and Nina's love story. So to have this book from Jake's p.o.v. was the cherry on top. It was amazing to get inside Jake's mind to see how he was thinking and feeling during key pivotal experiences from Jake Undone. I didn't think it was possible to love Jake anymore than I already did but my thoughts and feelings for him intensified ten fold. You will fall in love with him all over again and swoon with ever word he says. He is the most caring, sweet, kind hearted character you can read about. If only he were real I would say to myself. He is loyal beyond belief. He grabbed my heart and never let it go. The things he did and said are what every man should strive to be. Nina blew me away in this book! I was so happy that she did what she did for herself. I feel it was the peace that she needed to lead a truly happy life. I loved seeing all of our favorite characters from the series. As much as it was Jake's side of the story I don't think it would truly be complete without them. The way the book ended was amazing! Be prepared once you start reading because once Jake starts talking you are gonna want to listen. So be prepared for an all nighter because it was impossible to put this book down. As this series comes to a end all I can do is thank Penelope for creating a series that both captivates you and makes you think of life. When you can read books that affect you on a personal level and make you want to strive to be even better person is a beautiful thing. I'm sad for this review to come to a end as it's my goodbye to Jake and the crew but I'm looking forward for more from Penelope. I can only imagine the greatness that she has in store for us all.

By mjlovestoread I'm just going to say this right off the bat: THIS is the way to write a book in the male POV. Not many can successfully pull it off, but Penelope Ward has sincerely knocked this one out of the park!I will admit that Jake Green is truly one of the best book boyfriends I have ever had the pleasure to fantasize about. And I will also admit that Nina Kennedy kind of drove to me a bit nuts in Jake Undone and I honestly felt she was never good enough for him. But now reading his passion, the true love he felt for his girl, I can say that this is a couple that was destined to be together.What I loved most was that this was not just merely a retelling of Jake Undone. This book had so much more. Not only did we get Jake's version of events, of the daily struggles he went through while falling hopelessly in love with his wife, while trying desperately not to, but we were able to hear it described with such honestly, such raw emotion. My heart broke for him at his unfortunate dilemma forever haunting him, while he secretly pined for the girl who turned his world upside down. Nina and Jake did save each other and seeing his side of things only made me love him more. The torment he went through, while being everything to one woman and every beat of her heart to another, was written flawlessly.Having the entire crew there as his sounding board was absolutely brilliant. We get to catch up with old friends, seeing how everyone is faring. The additional glimpses into life for Jake and Nina Green as they live now, 9 years later was just enough to keep me satisfied that yes, love can really conquer all. These two have had some wild times, some heartbreak and yet through it all, their intensity and never-ending fight for each other's happiness pulls them through each and every time.I adored this book even more than I had expected and for me that is the best part of all. I am delighted that the author listened to her fans and gave us all what we had always hoped for: more Jake Green. It was beautifully written from beginning to end and I found myself with a huge smile on my face when those last words were read.Well done and a huge 5++ stars for a gorgeous read I won't soon forget.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. For All of Us Wacky Writers By Lost In a Book Mitch Levenberg has a unique voice, and this unusual little collection is a pleasure. Most of the stories in it have to do with writing and especially with readings--that is, the public performance of writing. Levenberg is wonderful at getting at the existential experience of readings--those moments where you know the audience is feeling the story, or not feeling it, or you (the author) are finding something new in it or--the ultimate--you start channelling Walt Whitman, Kafka, and "the man or woman who wrote that poem on the bathroom wall" that you read while taking a pee before you started. He nails the funny quirks of readers--such as the woman who looks at her watch every 30 seconds ("I know it's rude for an audience member to look at her watch; I wonder if it works the other way around") and keeps breaking off in the middle of her poems, saying she's accidentally read the wrong version. A few of the stories are about Levenberg's elderly mother and memories of his father, and I don't know how they fit thematically in the collection, but they're terrific, and somehow, they do.

Enjoyable and Erratic; A vacation in fiction By Pickles Mitch Levenberg opens the book with an introduction that talks about how the stories are, in a way, a journey into his mind as a writer. And the trip couldn't be more enjoyable.The essays really do take you out of whatever you're doing - wherever you are - and drop you right into the head of this Brooklyn author. Though each tale is quite short, I really felt like I became almost intimate with the cast of characters every time...just enough so that I was a little sad to leave them when the story was over. But the next story picks up so fast, that before you know it, you have a new world to play in, and new characters to befriend.Fast-paced, funny, at times heart-breaking, and altogether charming, "Write Something" gave me a wonderful, albeit brief, mental vacation, into a playground of Brooklyn bars, Lower East Side dinginess, and the wandering mind of an author.A must read for anyone who's ever wanted to take a trip down someone else's memory lane, and at the same time revisit the warmth of their own.

About the Author Lesley Williams is a respected Murri (Aboriginal) Elder. She is best known for instigating the domestic and international Justice for Aboriginal Workers campaign. Tammy Williams is a Murri woman and was admitted as a barrister in 2002. Super book - Wonderful that mother and daughter have told their story By Andrew O'Keeffe This is both a wonderful memoir and an important historical book. As a memoir, the story is moving and inspiring how one person, mother Lesley, is able to rise above what her situation might have destined for her, and to inspire her children to better quality and confident lives. Lesley is one special person. As an historical book, how many Australians are like me, having no idea of the degree of suppression of indigenous people (growing up about the same time I did). It will be an inspiring movie one day. The book is a wonderful book and very highly recommended.

The quotes by Marques Garvey, Malcolm X and CJ Walker, are very powerful. Elaine Destiny Bey goes into the science, and breaking down the melanin in our hair that's connected to the universe, and how perms shouldn't be used at all due to all the chemicals. If someone wants to go natural, remain natural, this book is the"KNOW HOW". A MUST READ. This book needs to be in your library. If you feel like you've been putting your dreams on hold By LD This book gives gentle guidance on how to get those creative ideas you have running around in your head out of there and into the real world. It's practical advice, yet some of her suggestions are enough 'out of the box' that they never would have occurred to me. I've already started to put some of these into practice and guess what, they work! If you feel like you've been putting your dreams on hold, for whatever reason, reading this book may be your first step in realizing those dreams.
