A Swoon-worthy Hero and A Courageous Heroine By Heather B I'm not really quite sure where to start in reviewing this second book in Peggy Henderson's Blemished Brides series. There is just so much to like about the story!First we have Cade, the gorgeous leading man. Not since Lucas Walker in Teton Sunset has Peggy (in my opinion) produced such a smouldering, sexy hero. The last few years have been tough for Cade, and as a result he is somewhat damaged. He's returned to the town of Elk Lodge to seek revenge on the man who framed him for murder. An incident occurs and Cade's life is saved by Laura.Laura is a wonderful heroine, who is also damaged and hurting. A year before this story takes place she lost her husband in a traumatic way, but she is still determined to live out his dream of running a small horse ranch. Despite the difficulties she faces on many sides she has kept the farm going.And the third character is a cute little boy called Jonah. He's spent virtually all his short life in an orphanage run by nuns, and is in desperate need of love, affection and parental care.Watching the growing relationships between these three, and seeing how they all help each other to heal and blossom, is beautiful to read. The attraction between Cade and Laura (certainly from Cade's side) is quite intense. Peggy has written it so well, and it's the just the reason most of us love to read romance novels... Swoon, swoon!The book focuses quite a bit on the developing relationship between Laura and Cade, but, of course, there is more to the story than that alone. The first few chapters throw up a lot of questions that the reader wants answered. During the course of the book all those answers are revealed. And there is at least one big surprise on the way - a plot twist I really didn't see coming.I also felt that I had the added bonus of learning something new about an element of American history. Although I love reading a good story, if I can find out something new and interesting in the course of doing so, that's even better.So hats off to Peggy for another great book, and for providing me with a new book boyfriend to enjoy ;)

By Arlene This is the second book in the Blemished Brides series and I loved it as much as the first one, In His Eyes. From the very first page, the book pulls you in and you feel your heart beating a little faster as you wonder what is going to happen next. Cade is a wonderful hero. Just out of prison with a lot of heartache and trying to recover from past hurts and frustrations, he has a gentle, sensitive and loving heart. He meets our heroine, Laura also recovering from past hurts. Laura is strong and determined and working hard to keep her farm from someone who has taken so much from her and now is determined to take away that too. And than we have adorable little Jonah who will melt your heart as you get to know and love him. Peggy has given us three lonely and hurting souls, we can root for as we read all the twists and turns of working towards a hea. Another wonderful love story from a very favorite author written with a lot of sensitivity. I recommend all her books, each one a little different and wonderful and always with a little light humor and romance. JudyE

By Amazon Customer This book is titled 'In His Touch', but it could also be 'In Her Touch', since the heroine is so strong and beautiful, and turns this revenge-seeking, hardened hero into a man who wants to make good, and let love win. They both need each other, and find beauty, strength and courage in each other's arms. Cade is at times funny and lighthearted, and at times deadly serious and shows signs of that hired gun he used to be. Laura is loving and gentle, but so strong and capable. Unlike some books where you can't see what the hero/heroine sees in the other person, these two really are perfect for one another and you can see why they fall for each other. With a few surprises along the way, In His Touch is a pleasing read, with likable leads, a good story, excellent writing, and romance with just enough heat. Another winner from Ms. Henderson!
