About the Author David Paul was born in Weymouth, UK, and went to secondary school in Dorchester, and graduated with an M.A. in Social and Political Science from Trinity Hall, Cambridge University. After teaching EFL in the UK, he went to teach in Hiroshima in 1980 and has been based there ever since. In 1982, he began his own language school, 'David English House', which became the largest school in the area after a few years. Since 1981, he has written a number of best-selling course books, run teacher training courses throughout East Asia, set up franchise teacher training centers in Korea and Thailand, and been a plenary or featured speaker at many major conferences in the region.

An Honest Review By Keith Bruce Whether you recall him from his acting days along with twin brother Peter or never heard of David Paul this book will certainly be a feast for your soul. There are enough colorful creative layers on the canvas to keep you coming back for multiple looks. David let's you know right from the introduction these works of art and poetry materialized through his own self reflection and awakenings. Thus calling himself the Abstract Alkaline Alchemist. His tone doesn't come off as self absorbent or condescending. He is certainly not a tormented soul who just wants to express only the pain of his existence. As a matter of fact this is meant to be a guide to help others on their journey to enlightenment and healing. Stand outs include, "The Realization", "Time Transcends Time", and "Magic". His photography is stunning and contains a vast array of black and whites coupled with colorful abstracts. Nature, skylines, and the human condition are all captured perfectly. Too bad he didn't partner this book with a CD to showcase his musical creativity. Some of the titles in the book were given musical interpretation with David playing guitar and performing the vocals. This "Dinner For One" whets the appetite and makes us hungry for more.
