About the Author I'm a romantic at heart. A true romantic. I love the idea of a happy ending, so much so I have trouble writing a sad one. The world is sad enough without beating down fictional characters. I like escaping in fiction. That's just me. I like sarcasm and snark - but I'm not sure a sad ending is in me. If you're looking for an edge like that, you're probably looking in the wrong place. Just FYI. When approaching the Hardy Brothers Security series, I decided to do it differently than a normal romantic suspense series. I started out with James and Mandy - and I'll continue on to the other Hardy family members - but I plan on continuing everyone's stories in each progressive book. What does that mean? It means you'll see progression with James and Mandy in Grady's story. You'll find progression with James, Mandy, Grady and Sophie in Finn's story - and so on. Everyone is going to get a shot at love - and story fulfillment. I love these characters and I want them to live on. Each book will not be strictly about one couple's story. I want everyone to grow together -- and I have at least nine books plotted out in the series and plan to release one a month. Thank you so much for reading!

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Tedious.... By Avid Reader When I first started this series it seemed to be cute love stories with a bit of suspense and crime drama thrown in. In reality it's tedious sex scenes that aren't that good (very repetitive and all four siblings seem to have the exact same kind of sexual encounters), very controlling men who order their women around and crime drama situations that are tertiary to the sex scenes. No character development beyond declarations of love which is odd as all the characters are introduced with fears of relationships and commitments. You would expect some growth and development but what you get is everyone falling in love immediately and having sex constantly.

This is such a great series, and I couldn't wait for James and Mandy's wedding. Obviously this can't be a smooth road, and James and Mandy find themselves being hunted by someone from James's past.This had the perfect mix of romance and suspense. I was on the edge of my seat and couldn't put it down! Mandy and James are hands down my favorite, and I feel that we know them better than the other characters. The Hardy parents were also in this story, which was great! The ending was just perfect, but I can't wait to read the next book because, like Mandy, I need to know where they are going on the honeymoon!!

The characters become so familiar that I feel like I personally know them. There is always a mystery in each of the books which only makes them better. I read for enjoyment most of the time and love to get lost in a good book that makes me feel good. This series does that. Highly recommend.

The book is a romantic suspense take on the stepbrother romance trend. Vic, the hero, is foul-mouthed and aggressive (his favorite word starts with an F, and his chapters are hilariously funny at times) while the heroine, Eve, is a sheltered introvert that’s been abused by her father, who marries Vic’s mother when she’s eighteen years old. Vic becomes infatuated with Eve and sets out to win her over. The middle of the book deals with their romance in their younger years. Eve is incredibly sheltered and naive and it was really great to read her thoughts as Victor dragged her from date to date, gradually opening her up and fighting off her father. In the present day, Victor and Eve have been torn apart for years by Vic’s prison sentence and a false accusation of cheating on her. Eve is bitter and cold and Victor is filled with rage, but when they see each other again their feelings are too strong to ignore.The writing in this book is strong, and it’s funny, sad, romantic and uplifting in different parts. There are a lot of sensual scenes but they’re never gratuitous and tie into the plot, and reflect a lot of emotion and character intensity. Great character development!

Abigail Graham has written some awesome things before, but Blackbird takes it to a whole new level.Blackbird is about Eve Ross and Victor Amsel. Eve’s father marries Vic’s mother during the summer before she starts college. Eve is sheltered and abused, while Vic is a wild child heir to a huge fortune and business empire. Eve’s controlling father tries to keep them apart, but Vic follows Eve to college and wins her over. When Vic gets involved into a scheme to get rid of his stepfather that turns out to be a trap, he winds up in prison and Eve is left convinced he cheated on her (he didn’t) and the pair are separated for five years. Eve grows bitter and becomes more like her father while Vic hardens and pines for revenge. When he gets out of prison with underworld allies and a revenge plan, it puts him in conflict with Eve. Their reunion is bitter but there’s a still spark of love between them and a chance to put things right.This is a plot heavy novel with wonderful romance, a few dark twists, and some rocking love scenes. It's fast paced and full of steamy erotic scenes. A must read if you love the new step-brother romance trend like I do! Five black stars!

A Great Read By Yasmin Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.When I first read the Paradise Falls series by Abigail Graham, I was instantly hooked to her style of writing, and her hero. He was an alpha male that really resonated with me, someone who took care of the woman he loved, and who took care of business. I got the chance to read her next effort, Blackbird, in exchange for a honest review and I was blown away.Victor is the kind of man I like to read about. He's strong, confident, knows how to get what he wants, and stops at nothing to win the woman he loves. He wants to have her, wants to protect her, but of course there are forces that are trying to keep them apart.Eve is a thoughtful, intelligent, and driven protagonist, and I really liked her portrayal. She always held her ground, and I felt an instant connection with her.The story was complex, full of twists and turns, and I really felt the chemistry between Eve and Victor; the two shared an undeniable chemistry and sexual tension that played really well throughout the book.This was a great book, and I look forward to reading more by Abigail Graham.

It was a freebie and I thought that because it was short, I had nothing to lose. It's an immaturely written NA with unlikeable main characters. The premise is nice enough - these two were best friends from childhood but everything changes the night before they go off to college and they sleep together. Fast forward 3 years and they meet again. The H is an absolute jacka** and the h is immature and rash. If you don't mind waiting for the series to be finished and you can stand cliffie endings, maybe you'll enjoy this one

Alex is on a visit to a friend the big city trying to recover from a failed relationship before heading back to college. Her friend is all excited about a soccer player that she has had a one night stand with. When they see him in a bar Alex realizes that it is Damon her best buddy while they were growing up in the same small town. As she a Damon get reacquainted after three years she sees flashes of the Damon that she grew up with and had all kinds of childhood adventures with, but at the same time there are differences that she is not sure if she likes in him or not. She continues to break through to get to the Damon that she knew but finds herself wondering if what occurred between them the last time they saw each other has something to do with his change in personality. They do tell each other that they love each other and she feels that she has broken through his tough exterior only to catch him with her best friend shortly afterward. Alex goes home to meet her mother's new boyfriend and is truly surprised at who it is and who is going to become her stepbrother.An excellent read and one that leaves you desiring to see what next book in the series is going to bring. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to the second one. I received this as a free review copy in return for a review.

And the author is tryin to sell this less than 200 page book for six to eight dollars. Greedy much! If your going to try and deceive someone like this you don't deserve any respect. And neither dose the person or persons who came up with the concept of serial e-books. If your so-called book ends in a cliffhanger at least have the respect to the purchaser to let them know ahead of time so they can then decide if the book interest them enough to purchase more/and or wait to read the rest of the story. Shame on you! SQ

Was a welcome addition between my smut erotica and true crime serial killer kindle books. Kinda wished the villain had said I'll get you my pretty and your little dog too but I'm not the writer. Loved the author making fun of the concept of insta love between a self conscious girl and handsome perfect man minus the fact he's a billionaire with a yet to be seen enormous package, but I'm stating the obvious. Sorry this review seems longer than the actual story but I just had to. Great story with a greater ending. Btw I will also take 5 dollars for my review. :)

Copyright (It doesn't matter no one will steal this crap) LOL.A short fast crackup. ...it wasn't just his abnormally flat nose that somehow suited him and made him even more handsome. Or the way he smelled like a pug. LOLOLOL.So stupid it's hilarious. I had a pug. There is nothing about their smell that is attractive no matter how lovable they are!

Satire done right By Catrina Thomas-Jefferson This is so stupid (in a good way) that you can't help but find yourself snort laughing, and you have to recognize the tongue in cheek skill used to write it as you very easily picture every scene as it occurs. I love a good shifter romance, but I can appreciate the humor presented by an author who is very obviously "over" the shifter trend.
