Schlachter I read this book at the perfect time - or perhaps 8 years a bit too late. Eight years ago I was laid-off 6 months after my first son was born. I was at a crossroads: I had a career I was wildly proud of, yet I knew starting a new job or career would mean longer hours and would take me away from my 6 month old son. For the next 8 years, while I was proud of my career and work choices, I am embarrassed to say I blamed others way too many times for not having my old job back, and yes, I knew this blame was holding me back from achieving great things. I picked up Defining Moment and my next step in my journey seems to be more clear. I feel Defining Moments is the voice of that smart role model telling me to take responsibility, make a choice, and define my own future. Rita Burgett-Martell's personal experience and recommendations on how to stop trying to make the past different and move forward have been life changing for me. No, this is book not rocket science. But, it is a strong voice of reason that may help you make a decision when you feel you are at a crossroads and need that (not-so) gentle push to take the next step.

Enjoy reading Defining Moments By dan smith Rita Burgette-Martell has written an extremely important book in "Defining Moments - Seizing the Power of Second Chances to Create the Life You Want". I have been going through several changes in my life and her book has been a real Genesa Inc., to assist me in getting back on track. This is a must read for anyone going through changes and is looking for professional help. The book reads smoothly and is well laid out. One thing that sticks out for me is that to get back on a successfull path it is not a high IQ nor creativity that will sustain going through the tough process of changes in life.
