I did not know this collection of poems would one day become a book. As the poems came to life from the dust of an adulteress affair, a battle ensued within me. Unbeknownst to me, these heartfelt writings were prophetic of a hell to come. A stormy young love took its toll on my heart and led me into a wormhole from which, I thought, was no escape. For 30 years, after the demise of that relationship, I became a raging alcoholic and drug addict. I had three failed marriages, I lost my family, most of my friends, my business and my license to practice medicine. I got busted and my dirty little secrets were revealed. Suddenly, I was naked before all who knew me. Then we reconnected. My soulmate and I were one again. A steamy adulteress affair had begun. The inner turmoil that resulted from this war between the spirit and the flesh made my drug addiction and all of my losses seem like a walk in the park. As you read these poems, you will see the conflict that raged within me. I refused to let these writings die. They are, and will always be, a reminder of the adversities which ultimately convicted me. I pray that one day, the scandal of my repentance will be greater than the scandal of my sins.
