I like the way Meredith writes and the stories she comes up with are absolutely incredible and unique. I must admit that I haven't read any of the other books in the series but I didn't feel that I needed to. Magic, curses, and fantasy come alive in this story. It is a definite must read! I don't want to give anything away in the story so take my word for it and pick up your copy as soon as it's available!

I enjoyed Magic in the Storm by the same author, and this is sort of a prequel to that book, even though it was written later. The romance was sweet and the character development (especially into those characters who repeat in Magic in the Storm) was well done. A nice, sweet read.

The series does have some characters who are hard to like, and perhaps aren't meant to be all that likable. There are some tragic elements that don't make it a straight-up HEA, so be warned if that's what you're looking for.
