The Forty Elephants, sometimes called the Forty Thieves, terrorized London's West End district and the provinces from their base at Elephant and Castle. This is a deeply researched history that identifies the leading members of the gang and around seventy of its associates, and relates the daring operations of this all-female gang of predators. Real history and worth every cent.
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Please don't shoplift this book but do get it. By E. Dodd This is the only book that I have found that covers organized female gangs in London. As the title says it deals with The Forty Elephants. Perhaps the author will consider a sequel on The Clockwork Orange (not the Stanley Kubrick film but the female gang that competed with the Forty Elephants.) Sermon finished. It is readable, factual, and entertaining in style. I recommend it.
