There were a few times when you though that something suspenseful would happen but it never did. When the orphanage caught on fire you thought that it could be arson and that someone is out to get the hero of the story, but no it was just faulty wiring. You get drama from an ex-girlfriend, but that is only for a very small bit of the story. There were many times when I felt like the story was building up to something only to find it come crashing down. Julia, the heroine of the story, is constantly mad at the hero, Adrian and seems to always be yelling at him. Yet he was still attracted to her. This books setting is in Africa and I feel the author did a good job describing the scenery, but to me the characters came out a little flat. I did not enjoy this book.

There were only a few mentions about the coast, the farm, and a couple of local food, but I guess this was not deemed very important and the author instead chose to highlight the HIV-positive orphans who were the common advocacy by the leading man and lady. If awareness for the orphans is the goal here, I will agree that it was achieved to a certain degree.Good story, but formulaic...a woman starting anew; unpleasant first meeting with a man who'll turn out to be her boss; an ex-girlfriend and an ex-boyfriend; etc, etc.I've read a lot of formulaic stories before for which I gave high ratings. Of course, the story matters in a major way, but the writing style plays a very important role as well; and that is where I think the author can improve on. It felt like reading a book for a grade schooler, only this one has romantic sex scenes.
