When X happens, do Y. Lots of guidelines. The chapters on opening lines and conversation topics have a ton of examples. Most of them are pretty good but there are some I wouldn’t use. It depends on the situation. There are many good tricks to use to get the conversation going again when you can’t think of anything else to say.

In comparison, How to Win Friends and Influence People is all stories where you have to read a whole chapter to get just one piece of advice. This book is different. There are no stories in this book for filler. It just tells you straight up how to interact with other people and it’s all good advice.
