I know what I'm talking about. I was a smoker for 39 years from the age of 12, and I can honestly say that I wished I never started smoking at all. Despite the odd time when I got some perceived relief or comfort from a cigarette, being a smoker was miserable in the extreme! Before anyone uses my length of smoking without apparent harm to me, as an argument not to quit, I can tell you now that I feel I dodged a bullet! I was lucky - so far. Let me start by saying there is no quick fix and no magic formula to stop smoking. Granted, there are aids to help you give up but at the end of the day, you can only stop smoking if you really want to. Don’t stop and you will die earlier than you should. What I will attempt to do in this eBook is to make you want to decide give up for your own reasons. Those reasons could be for health reasons, for your children’s sake, for financial reasons, or for social reasons. Strength of will is important in giving up. You have to want to give up and stick with it. T By the way, at the same time that I gave up smoking, I gave up alcohol completely. I realized that I was giving in to another habit and one that was truly addictive. Quit smoking now! You are stronger willed than you give yourself credit for!

About the Author Brian lives at Forest Lake, 20 km south west of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia, with his wife Ivanka. He originated from a little coal mining village in County Durham in the north east of England, went to St Aidan's Grammar School in Sunderland and then joined the Royal Air Force in 1967, leaving as a Warrant Officer in 1991. During his service in the military, he was stationed at many places overseas and was involved in the Falklands Conflict and the first Gulf War, Desert Storm. Brian has a love of wildlife photography and produced a photo book "The Lake at Forest Lake" of all the different birds that visit the lake. His bestselling "Lighting Diagrams" eBook about lighting setups for studio portraits has achieved #1 for its category on Amazon. His "Simply Exposure: A Light Bulb Moment" was written for those who have bought a digital SLR and are not sure about how to get the perfect exposure for their images. He has written 3 novels: "Deadly Inheritance", Manifesto for a Serial Killer" and "The Cheng Sung Connection". Brian has always had a love of writing from his days as a senior government policy writer. It was hard to quit and yes I failed a few times, but eventually I won the battle and quit. It has been a little over a year for me. This book is possibly one of the best guides to quitting. I did not know what all was in cigarettes and if I had not already quit, I think that chapter would make me want to. It is an expensive habit that affects everyone and everything around us. The tips in this book make total sense and the inspiration and support it offers is outstanding. Quit for your family, quit for your friends, quit for your body, quit for you. Don’t give up, you can do it and you will notice the difference in even just a day. Brian did an incredible job with putting this book together and it can be the best investment you may make. I give high fives to the ones who have quit and wishes of luck and support for those taking the steps to quitting. I strongly recommend this book, it is a must read.

It's hard to quit, and after quitting, the cravings never FULLY leave the neural pathways.Smoking is HORRIBLE for your health. Stale cigarette smoke in your clothes makes you smell like a derelict dirt-bag.It makes your face look puffy, bloated, pasty, wrinkly and old.I stopped after twenty-plus years worth of off/on quitting, and will not go back.I was 39 but looked about 50. I now look like I'm 32. My clothes and home don't reek, my voice sounds better, and I feel better.And I have more cash in my wallet.

By Stacey is Sassy (Stacey B-Reviews) I wish I liked this one more, but for me I spent half the time not liking Eddie for being a recovering manwhore and the other half being drowned in angst. Anticipation just didn't have the same feel as the first book in the series, Satisfaction. The characters were very different. Eddie has gotten around. He hasn't had a girlfriend that lasted past the 6 month mark and most of his "relationships" are of the one night variety. Blue is a very self-reliant and private person. She has been in love with Eddie for the 10 years she has known him. She was quite happy to settle for friendship though, as she doesn't want to have him for a good time but a short time which could ruin their friendship.An accident which puts Blue into hospital forces the two of them to look at their relationship differently. This story shows us the struggle the two of them face in coming to terms with their feelings and whether they are willing to put their friendship at risk.My problem was that I liked Blue at the beginning but started to dislike her...and disliked Eddie at the beginning but learnt to like him. There wasn't a time through the whole story that I liked both the characters at the same time. I'm not sure how Blue could be in love with Eddie and watch him be with so many women. I'm also not sure if Eddie loved Blue, even just as friends, could disregard her because the latest hook-up feels intimidated by their friendship.Overall, I didn't mind Anticipation but definitely enjoyed the characters and storyline of Satisfaction more.This review and more can be found at http://edgyreviews.com/

A motorcycle accident brings the ten year, close, friendship between Eddie and Blue into a new focus. Blue is now struggling to keep her, more than friends, feelings contained as she always has done. Eddie, now, realizes just how important Blue is to him.When dance floor stirrings between the two "friends" leads to the inevitable erotic encounter, Blue flees afterward fearing that she will lose the real friendship that she desperately needs.I like a friends to lovers and more story. And, I love the independent, outspoken, unique Blue and Eddie the irreverent, woman hopping, lover par excellence, who is willing to become a patient, caring man to show Blue that she is THE woman for him.My problem is that Blue's internal dialogue and angst took up too much of the book. It was repetitive and even a bit annoying after a while. I understood her dilemma without being hit over the head with it. That said, there were moments that were very poignant and others that were heart wrenching. If you like a book that makes you feel, give this one a try. It also deserves credit for being a stand alone even though it's book 2 in a series. Book one does enhance the enjoyment, but is not required.

I liked Satisfaction and the Oliveiro twins enough to just buy Anticipation without reading the reviews first. It's not that Anticipation wasn't a good book but I like to be warned if the h is going to piss me off. And Blue definitely pissed me off. The author apparently likes to write about women who come from less than ideal circumstances and then give them a happily ever after. I really enjoyed Maggie's journey but Blue's journey was a bit too much for me.I understand that Blue had a horrific childhood and that is what makes her the way she is. I get that and it makes perfect sense. But this is a romance book - a work of fiction. I work in an inner city school district. I see "Blue" all the time. I don't want to read about her and if I do, I need her to be a little less damaged and a little more introspective. I need her to at least be willing to have a happily ever after. I also would like for her to be intelligent enough to know that her actions were what was leading to her biggest fears becoming reality. Self fulfilling prophesy. She was highly annoying. I found myself wishing the author would write in a healthy love interest for Eddie to end up with and let Blue have her baggage since she loved it so much. He deserved better.I am giving the book three stars because the source of the angst was realistic. I just don't like that type of realism in my romantic fiction.

Nagel My first reaction to this book was that it is a collection of simple concepts presented in a direct manner. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that is its strength. We tend to over think when it comes to relationships and get so caught up in the emotionality and the perceived competition that we get confused. How to Get a Girlfriend calms you down and shows a clear path. Men and women would both benefit is this kind of training started in Middle School.

He tells exactly what you need to attract and start a relationship with a woman. The information is laid step-by-step, so there's no guesswork figuring out what to do next. There were many things in the book that I've never heard of before. Seems like the author knows his stuff and comes from experience.What I like the most about the book is that it challenges you to act and do something, and not just consume it. Because let's face it, we can get the good content, but if don't do anything with it – it's worthless...I enjoyed the book, and I recommend you check it out.

Hill & the Goddess By DaFortner A Lover’s Origin: Black Island is a novella telling the story of the first meeting and love story of Hilliam Tessano and Persephone James. This latest installment in the Ramsey/Tesano saga is a just a small morsel leading up to the grand finale of this series. In this installment, readers learn how Hill and Persephone’s paths cross and the instant attraction that flowed between them. Hill was living on the infamous Black Island working for his uncles unbeknownst to the crimes they were committing. Persephone is lured to the island in the hopes of rescuing the sister she never knew. Readers will also glimpse how evil Eva really was and the lengths she would go to for power. This background novella holds a wealth of information; readers will need as we prepare for the final installment.The storyline for Black Island was engaging and provided a wealth of information. Readers understand Hill’s need and why he has not seen his parents. It also shows how deeply he loves Persephone. To say he was smitten from the first meeting is an understatement. He does not want to pursue Persephone or Goddess as he calls her, but the attraction was strong. Persephone was just as intrigue with Hill, but she also wanted to form a relationship with her sister. Ms. Washington does a great job with character development and the story line. This is a page turner readers will not want to put down, and if readers were fans of Eva, after this book, their opinions will change. She is every bit like her father. Overall this was an enjoyable read. Will hate to see this series end.

By Miller I have been waiting like a junky for Hilliam & Persephone's story and right now I am yearning for A Lover's Return's release ASAP. You can't help but fall in love with the way Hill & Sef love each other. As we all know from the other books, Hill is a tough and ruthless man who doesn't trust anyone yet he's so soft and gentle when it comes to Sef. They will do ANYTHING for each other. I love the way Hill is so protective of Sef. As always with Ms. Washington a captivating plot and story line, I couldn't put the book down. There are a lot of answers about Hill's past giving us a deeper understanding of him and how he thinks. Each story contains a fun sit down and enjoy an hour or two of good humor, interesting turns of events, and a sigh or two thrown in. This is a stand-alone. If you haven’t read any of the other stories, no worries. Like in any series, some stories are better than others. I will say that in this series I would give each story a 4 or 5 – not too shabby.Melinda is a mess. She comes across as all together, but is paralyzed by making a mistake. Nate is a sweet, hot, adventurer. I love both of these characters because they are real personalities of people I know. I enjoyed waiting to see how Ms. Hatler would have each character stretch and grow. It has a message without coming across too heavy.Rating: 4 StarsContent: Mild innuendo, kissing and French kissing.Source: Netgalley

I hope Mary-Ann's story is better. Speaking of Mary-Ann, it really pissed me off that she showed so much love & compassion to a stranger, but treated her sister Ginger like crap in the previous book. Not cool at all.

It is still predictable but that is just fine. It makes it easy to read and enjoy rather than trying to figure everything out. It is how the problems are solved that makes the difference. It is a really good little book. I thoroughly enjoyed it.Melinda Morgan lost her job the same time and from the same company as Ginger Neilson. When Ginger had her sister Mary Ann move out, she asked Melinda to move in as her roommate. It turned out to be a great decision except for Ginger’s cats and their hair. Since being laid off, she has been looking for jobs but when she finds something, she has too much experience. The temp jobs just do not pay enough. She is on her way to her Mother’s house to finally accept a portion of the inheritance her Father had left her. He had been an adventurer and was killed in a hot air balloon accident. Melinda still had problems accepting it; but her Mother had even more. It was enough stress for Melinda to stop at the neighborhood icon, Bernie’s Bakery, for a chocolate marshmellow fudge bar. It has been years since she had one; but if ever there was a time, it was now. Especially since Mary Ann had invited herself along and was to meet her there.While they were drinking their coffee and eating their muffins (no bar), a hot looking guy drove up on a motorcycle and stood their taking his helmet off. Mary Ann nearly swooned and even Melinda was interested in this “bad guy” for an instant. However, she had her own experience with a “bad guy” when she was only fourteen. He was her first crush and her biggest heartbreak. Her thoughts were jerked back to the present when Bernie entered and promptly fell on the floor at her feet with papers flying. After making sure Bernie was all right, she asked about his papers as she saw they were resumes. Bernie told her he was sick and the doctor told him to get immediate rest for at least two weeks or he could have a heart attack. Since she owed Bernie for his being there for her over the years, she told him she would run the bakery for two weeks. Bernie told her she had the job and that working with Nate would not be a problem. Nate, Bernie’s son and Melinda’s best friend, had moved with his mother to Paris after the divorce. He had not told Melinda goodbye nor had written. However, when Bernie told him he was ill, Nate left his job as a photographer of extreme adventures to be here for his dad. Bernie assured her Nate was not interested in the bakery and did not have any experience whereas she had worked for Bernie while in college. Then Nate walks in and she discovers he is the “hottie” Mary Ann was admiring.After his father left, Nate told Melinda that Bernie was selling the bakery. Once sold, the new owner could do anything he wanted to with the business. Melinda was devastated at the thought of no Bernie’s Bakery and on the way to her Mother’s house, Melinda made the decision to use the entire inheritance to purchase the bakery. After making the decision, she felt like it was meant to be. However, when she talked to her Mother, she found that she could not get the inheritance unless she did the tasks her Father had set for her in his final letter. Needless to say, the letter was thirteen years too late. Could she do the tasks in time to purchase the bakery from Bernie? She was crushed when she read the letter with the tasks. What else would happen? This was just in chapter one!

Syd, our heroine, is a great character. She’s “Practical. Wise beyond her years. Very matter-of-fact.” When she was 14, Syd read a book that changed her life and our practical girl has had a crush on the author every since. That author, who hasn’t been able to write a book since, is her freshman English teacher. And even though the two are in an English class, the chemistry is hot! I loved the whole trilogy but this one was my favorite.

Since then, he's had some trouble writing something new even though he has hundreds of ideas. To make things fresh, he takes a one year contract to teach writing at the esteemed Bribury College. Syd is a freshman at Bribury and was a student of Montrose. She's loved Billy Montrose since she was 14 and read his book. When Montrose is looking for an administrative assistant to help organize he notes, he wants Syd for the job. I LOVE student/teacher romances, they are my favorite type of book and this one did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the buildup to these two getting together and the chemistry between them. I wasn't crazy about about how Billy handled a certain situation but I still liked him. I really enjoyed this trilogy and I hope this author writes more New Adult books in the future.

It was nice for Sydney to tell her story. How she got to college; what brought her there; why she has a chip on her shoulder, etc. I enjoyed learning more about Billy Montrose. I enjoyed watching their relationship grow. I thought it was interesting how this book takes place the same time the second book does. I plan on reading this series again to see if I can catch any crossovers. Mara Jacobs is one of my favorite writers. I didn't think I would like this series but I did.

It spoke to so much pain I had experienced as a child growing up without a strong, father-figure for most of my life. This book would make an excellent gift for anyone. I highly recommend especially for men to give insight to them about the father factor and the importance of recognizing truthfully the impact of the missing father in the life of a child. Most importantly, this writer offers solutions and hope to know that healing and recovery from emotional wounds are entirely possible. Get the book and get one for a friend to pass it on!

By Tameka Nelson I can't seem to find the words to express all of the emotions this book brought out of me. This book is a true blessing to anyone whom picks it up. I found myself so engaged in the authors story like I've known her a lifetime and maybe it's because she is me. I will be passing this book to my daughter to read and will be recommending this book to everyone that I know. Unfulfilled Desires is going to be part of the foundation that I use to break my families generational curse of fatherlessness.

He provided so many real life examples along with great ways to deal with situations that arise in everyone's life. I could identify with many of the things the author said and it was great to read a book where it felt like the author was speaking just to me. He brings a very personalized approach to self help and self love, which I think a lot of books are lacking these days. I would highly recommend this book!

About the Author Terence P. Curley, D.Min. received his Doctorate in Ministry from Boston University in 1990 and is a licensed mental health counselor. Curley has taught at Lesley University Graduate School for Counseling Psychology and Expressive Therapy in Cambridge Massachusetts and is a faculty member for the Theological Institute at St. John Seminary in Boston. He has published numerous feature articles and produced many DVDS. He has also appeared on television and presented lectures and workshops throughout the United States. He previously served as president of the board for the National Catholic Ministry to the Bereaved and as a pastor in the Greater Boston area.

While introducing us once again to the old methods of grieving it introduces new perspectives that I think are very meaningful for those who work with people who are grieving. A good read even for those who are grieving today.

It provides essential information about the massive paradigm shift occurring in the field of bereavement. This change in our understanding about grief affects those who want to help the bereaved in meaningful ways. The book refutes what have been the "standard" theories" which are still utilized by some counselors and other caregivers. This approach highlights the importance of "continuing bonds" with those who have died. In this way it illustrates that death is not the end of a relationship. This belief directly impacts those who minister to the bereaved. A better world view is provided here along with a detailed glossary of terms and bibliography. The book illustrates how the goal for grieving is to find meaning not to forget or detach our relationships. This is of considerable help for the bereaved and those who are with them. Updates on the new ways to understand grief are provided by the author in a series of You Tubes. The presentations give new insights about the psychology of loss.

For well over half a century, since the Soviet regime first allowed Sviatoslav Richter to travel to the west, his name has been synonymous with the very pinnacle of pianistic art. His recorded legacy, extending from 1947 to 1994is one of the largest and most admired ever assembled by any musician anywhere. Yet this prodigiously gifted artist underwent no formal musical studies of any kind until at the age of 22 when he left the relative obscurity of theUkraine to seek the advice of Russia's most celebrated piano pedagogue, Heinrich Neuhaus, in Moscow. Neuhaus' astonished reaction to his first encounter with Richter, and his declaration that 'to teach one who already knows will only do damage', have passed into legend. Richter, a famously reclusive man outside a small circle of trusted companions, resisted speaking or writing about himself. As a result, comparatively little is known about his life before his move to Moscow. This lavishly illustrated book provides unique insights into the childhood and formative years of 'Svetik' - 'Little Light', as he was always known within the large and unusually creative family circle- in a provincial Ukrainian city during the traumatic years of revolution, civil war, famine and wartime occupation by German and Romanian forces. Walter Moskalew, Richter's much younger cousin, is guardian of a rich collection of photographs, reminiscences, drawings and letters of family members, notably the memoirs of Richter's mother Anna and his twenty-year-long correspondence with his beloved Aunt Meri. Ukrainian country estate and the turbulent world that followed that nevertheless sparked the imagination of the young pianist. Best read while listening to some the excellently remastered Melodiya recordings of the master.

Perhaps the closest we will ever get to understanding Richter's early life. The summers in the country, the imagination and creativity in doing skits, writing poetry, drawing everyday experiences -- I loved it. And apparently this is a particularly Russian (Ukrainian) approach to life. Surely these experiences were the seeds of his imagination in music-making.
