This is a book to be savored and revisited because of mutual events we have all, at some points in our lives, encountered.Stories such as: "Our Relationship with our Adult Children" which for me hit close to home. Or "...of his initiation into a new unknown life..." another account that deals with the painful disintegration of a longtime marriage. Of what can be learned from the experience itself that will allow us to make amends and evolve.This is not only a book to draw wisdom from, but to be shared with others.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. a great new book By Rosa Abraira The author is an experienced psychotherapist, with particularly good skills at treating women entangled in relationships with narcissistic men.She is able to carry most of these difficult therapies to a good outcome, after helping these women work on some of their families of origin issues.She offers in her therapeutic relationships, not only emotional insight, but also an empathic, supportive approach.In addition, she helps her patients deal not only with their present, but very importantly, with their past losses, in order to reintegrate ego functioning.This is a very important book to add to a therapist's armamentarium and also an excellent self help book.Clear and concise, these vignettes show what a difference a good therapist can make in a woman 's life.I highly recommend it.Rosa Abraira,M.D.Board Certified General, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
