Aidan Montgomery hadn’t been prepared for Amelia Bradbury to walk in and then out of his life. He also hadn’t expected to find the powerful magic hidden deep within him for the last nineteen years, but he’s embracing it — finding more control and more answers every day. Now, with the help of Amelia’s best friend, Bethany, Aidan is on a quest to understand his destiny and find Amelia. Amelia decided to stand by her duty, which meant walking away from her first chance at love. Trapped in Cresthaven at the Queen’s mercy, she spends her days with Micah — an ally she still holds at arm’s length — struggling to manage her heartbreak while keeping her mind focused on the task at hand. As she continues to unlock the secrets of the Keeper power, Queen Julia’s true motives reveal themselves, forcing Amelia to decide, yet again, how much she’s willing to sacrifice. Will Aidan get to Amelia before it's too late, or will the very power that sustains them keep them apart?

Bound by Spells (Bound Series Book 2), by Stormy Smith Review "Featuring a cast of mages and shapeshifters with unique magical abilities, one destiny-shaping prophecy, a genocidal megalomaniac, and a budding, heated romance (or two!), this book is paranormal gold! Read the first book in the series first, of course, but once you finish this one you're sure to be salivating for the next release in this not-to-be-missed romantic paranormal series." -- Serena Chase, USA Today's Happy Ever After blog

About the Author Stormy Smith is the author of the Amazon best seller, Bound by Duty, and Bound by Spells. She calls Iowa’s capital home now, but was raised in a tiny town in the Southeast corner of the state. She grew to love books honestly, having a mom that read voraciously and instilled that same love in her. She knew quickly stories of fantasy were her favorite, and even as an adult gravitates toward paranormal stories in any form. Writing a book had never been an aspiration, but suddenly the story was there and couldn’t be stopped. When she isn’t working on, or thinking about, her books, Stormy’s favorite places include bar patios, live music shows, her yoga mat or anywhere she can relax with her husband or girlfriends.

My mind has been blown away on this one.I got this book before you did because I am cool like that. :) (Okay, fine. Sorry for the snarkiness. My alter ego comes out at night and that is when I am writing this) Sorry, but this one is a little long.I really liked the first one, and generally the first book in a series is the best for me. Not so this time around. Honestly, this book was a good two and a half times better than the first one. And that is saying a lot because the first one was pretty fantastic. There are are couple differences in the writing from the first book to this one. The most obvious being the fact that the Pov's change. The first book was all Amelia. But this time it was like reading two books with Aidans POV thrown in. And now that I know more about Aidan, I like him more. He reminds me of that guy you friend zoned and then came to realize is super smexy after all. Yup, just like that. He has got some wicked cool powers and if I am kinda jealous of him.The second difference to me is the fact that more background is added to these characters in this book than the first one, which, kinda threw me at first because generally you come to expect that in the first book. You know, for bonding purposes. The first book was an appetizer, this one is the entree. The growth of this story is unfathomable (is that a word?) I think I will be reading it again. I will not be doing my character profiles because this is the second book in the series and it seems redendant to me. Although I gotta give a shout out to Dillon and Micah. Dillon, I just want to eat you up Little Man. And Micah, I am still rooting for you.I may have a few favorite quotes laying around. Hold on, let me look.Oh yeah! Here they are:As her passion intensified, I watched red overtake her blue irises and all I saw was blood spreading across ice. This time though, I wonderd whether it would be mine.I kept leaning down toward the map, squinting as I tried to figure out what exactly I was looking at. "What is this? What's behind the house? Is something wrong with the map?""Good gravy Aidan. Haven't you ever seen the labyrinth?" Bethany had stayed fairly quiet during the discussion, and her voice coming from the corner of the room surprised me."You know," she continued, "David Bowie? Hoggle? The babe? The babe with the power?"[That one cracked me up :)]Her darkness sucked the light of my flame into an abyss, like a black hole eating the particles of light and the pieces of stardust from the universe. But when he touched me, she would let go.Cheers

By Megsandherbooks I had the pleasure of ready Bound By Duty (Book #1) and absolutely loved it to pieces! Bound By Spells picks up just where Bound By Duty leaves you heart broken and wanting to scream! The struggle between the heart and mind is relentless. What lengths would you be willing to go to in order to keep those you cared mose for in this world safe? How would you cope with the reality that you have been lied to your entire life and are just a pawn in a game larger than you could ever dream...that every decision you make could have hazardous effects...that your life has never really been yours? This is the truth Amelia has come to know in just a few short weeks. Betrothed since birth to the son of the deranged queen of the immortals, she has unimaginable power locked within her that the queen is wililng to go to any lengths to control, and that she has to choose to play the queens game in order to keep the ones she loves safe. I have to say the emergence of The Keeper had me up in arms...the power contained withing Amelia is not something I would envy, at least not while she is unable to fully control it. That struggle alone left me exhausted and I was only reading about it.Aiden, discarded by Amelia and heart broken finds strange things happening to him that he doesn't understand. Orphaned as a baby he has floated from foster home to foster home never fitting in...until he found Amelia. He knows something is going on...something bigger than him...he just needs to find out what it is and get her back. What he doesn't know is how large his role is in all of this...and it is something he could never imagine. I loved the addition of Aiden's POV so much! I am a sucker for a back story and through his POV you learned so much more about him, his past, and his insecurities. Watching him struggle and overcome all he is delt and growing into so much more as the story continues was amazing.I could go on and on about all the fabulous charachters in this book and can honestly say there was NOTHING that I did not love! Stormy has outdone her self with this installment. I absolutely could not put this down...the lies, the deception, and the never ending struggle to find the truth had me on the edge of my seat eagerly flipping (er... tapping) to get to the next page. The ending of this book totally snuck up on me and had me shouting at my kindle, though smiling as I did...I CANNOT wait for the next installment!!! Seriously...I need it like right this minute!!!As with the first story this was well written and VERY clean...appropriate for any older child/young adult, teen, or adult. There is no foul language or sexual situations that would be offensive. If you are a lover of unique stories filled with magic, shifters, action, suspence, friendship, and delusional power hungry villians you MUST one-click this baby!!!

I went through and reread the first book before this one, just so I would be in the moment, and I'm glad I did. This takes up right where the first leaves off, and introduces Aiden's POV. Amelia has left with Micah and is headed off to the evil queens castle (in the Pacific Northwest lol). Aiden has discovered he's an AniMage. We find out what the queens motives and goals are. We learn more about the prophecy. We meet some great new characters. And we get a few mini-happy endings The Good:+ Excellent follow up! I hate when I love the first book and then am disappointed by the second. Not the case here!+ Great continual character development. The characters that you love from the first book keep gaining more layers and dimensions (Micah especially).+ Lovely new characters. Here's lookin' at you Baleon. No clue why I love him so much, but I do + I loved the format of this one. It flips back and forth between Amelia and Aiden's POV, which really added to the experience.+ The Feeeeeeels!!!The Bad:- The only thing I've got is that there was one of those weird formatting things where it repeats a passage. You know what I mean. You're reading, minding your own business, when all of a sudden you've got déjà vu. The only thing I've got is that there was one of those weird formatting things where it repeats a passage. You know what I mean. You're reading, minding your own business, when all of a sudden you've got déjà vu. (See what I did there? You know you know what I'm talking about.)The Ugly:-- Nothing! Woot woot! Can't wait for the next
