About the Author Karolyn Vreeland Blume is an expert problem-solver and a gifted strategist. By Lana R Nelson I bought two copies of this book because my husband and I both will USE it!Karolyn’s engaging wry wit rings out in Eat the Elephant. This is the first self help book that I have wanted to read from cover to cover without stopping! But I suggest you get your highlighter and the other simple tools Karolyn recommends before you start. That way you won’t have to put it down! You’ll want to keep this book within easy reach to refer to it often. Karolyn Vreeland Blume is the lawyer who doesn’t “pussyfoot” around when it comes to helping you get out of overwhelm! 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. We all should buy this book and then Eat the Elephant!!! By Thomas P. Valenti Karolyn's vast experience in life, the law, coaching and in conflict work gives her a unique perspective to guide people through times of "Overwhelm." This book does not really offer you some unique perspective that requires a huge commitment of time, study or effort. The book is a quick read. There are exercises that you do that take some additional time, none of which are terribly difficult. What I think is most impressive is that the way out of your overwhelm seems simple when Karolyn talks you through it. And yes, if you know Karolyn, as I do, you actually feel like you are having a coffee or a "Cosmo" with her and she is telling you what you are reading. Many times, you are struck by the common sense that fills the book. You will find yourself saying " Why didn't I think of that?" But that is the point isn't it. We are overwhelmed, stuck, and cannot think in the way we wish. So karolyn sits with you, teaches and coaches you through it all, and makes you laugh out loud all the way through it! All of this for a bargain price on Amazon as well!

I'm typical type A personality, and frequently struggle with being overwhelmed (mostly because I'm such a perfectionist). Karolyn Blume's book is spot on. There were parts of the book when I felt like she was talking directly to me. Having the tools to take action when life gets too crazy is so important because my overwhelm is sometimes paralyzing. Life doesn't stop so you can get it together, but having tangible strategies to work through the stress can help improve relationships, and lead to a more enjoyable life. I highly recommend this book for anybody who wants to release the burden of stress, and get back to living a happy, fulfilling life.
