4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. An Amazing Love Story! By Babs0214 WOW what more can I say about this incredible story! I have not read this author before but oh boy will I now! Brilliant, funny, very insightful, entertaining and best of all a true CUBS fan! I love how El and Jags beautiful story spans out from being children and then discovering their true love! All of the other characters are well developed and loved how the author wove them throughout the story! This is a must read!

I don't know where to begin with this story.....Jag is all alpha male but lack of reading women and Ellen is a sweet and intelligent woman. Put these two together and their chemistry is crazy ever since they were kids. I love it....Great work Harper Bentley!!!!!
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Typical teen/YA angst By JCReadIt This is a coming of age story about how sometimes you have to grow apart in order to come together. I appreciated that El wasn't pathetically hung up on Jag to where he could walk all over her and she'd stay or make excuses for him. She was prepared to make a life without him, no matter how much the thought hurt. I also like that Jag truly cared about El and more often than not did right by her. Her pain, their pain, came more from lack of communication than anything he really did or didn't do. But he wasn't afraid to fight for her and didn't turn to other women to boost his ego when things weren't working out. As protagonists they were both strong in their own rights and co-dependently independent (that makes sense after reading the book, trust me). The secondary characters weren't featured as the "next installment". They stayed as the supporting cast throughout which was refreshing. I could see the antagonists coming a mile away though I didn't really understand Alessandra's obsession with Jag. It seemed contrived after a while so I stopped caring. Austin seemed to be created because there wasn't enough drama. Like he was written in after the book was finished to spice it up and instead he fell flat. Overall, I didn't get caught up or emotionally invested in these characters. The relationship they had as teens seemed more genuine to me than the relationship as adults. It was almost like after it turned physical the emotional aspect was less important.All in all True Love wasn't bad. The plot was pretty predictable and the characters could be annoying and angsty (as only teens and young adults can be). It got a bit boring in the middle. I think I skipped more of book 2 than I read but all in all it was well written and an ok way to pass an hour.
