I am currently pregnant with my fourth child and very emotional! However, I am glad I decided to give this book a go. It’s truly a heart-breaking tale of one woman’s experience of parenthood. But, what I loved about this book was how positive and proactive the author was in her pursuit to giving her son a good life despite his many health problems. She and her family endured a lot of personal pain, and yet she fights hard to maintain a normal life for her family and her son, Jason, who required round the clock care due to spastic quadriplegia. What this book teaches me is courage. We all worry about silly little things and we can often forget just how lucky we are. We can lose sight of the bigger picture. And then, there are people like Judith. People who push on through and make the best of whatever heartbreak life chucks in their direction. They can find joy in the pain. Hope in the heartbreak. If you are blessed, like me, with healthy children, this book will reaffirm just how absolutely blessed you are. If however, you have experienced a child with special needs, this book will be of great comfort.Overall, this book has taught me how all children are a blessing. Society demands that all children are 100% physically/mentally perfect. And well, that’s not realistic and it’s completely unfair. We come in many different flavors and yes, some kids need a lot more support. Judith’s story clearly shows us how we are all unique beings and how Jason was a beautiful blessing.

By Kim Wattman I personally had the God given honor of knowing Jason and he was a part of my family through marriage. What a special young man he was and every time I would visit him he would have a smile that would light up a room. My husband Barry is Jason's first cousin. I love the book that Judy wrote in memory of her son and I know Jason is smiling down from heaven with that mega watt smile of his that I will never forget! Judy is such an advocate for all of our special needs children who are a wonderful blessing from God. I pray that this book will help others who are facing a similar situation, life is never easy but with people like Judy and other advocates like her it makes the path much easier. I am in agreement with Judy that the word retarded is such a vulgar word, Judy helps us all to see that disabled children need love and affection just like any other child. I definitely recommend this book to others!

I could not put it down. I would recommend this book highly. It truly shows how much more we need to do for special needs children.
