I'd say that that's a fair shot. They were all horrible and the writing isn't good. The characters are unbelievable and whiny. Why is Q angry again? Oh wait... He always is.The amount of unreasonable, irrational angst is funny for a while, and then it gets incredibly annoying.I eventually got so bored that I began skimming pages. What's sad is I didn't miss much by doing so. Tess was still having purple prose inner dialogues and Q was being... well, he's not much else other than angry. At everything.Did I just repeat myself? Well be prepared for pages and pages of endless repetition, If you choose to buy this book.In summary, severely annoying characters. Boredom. Bad writing and I skimmed pages without missing a single important thing.
6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. I Cried when this book went so wrong in Vol 2... WHY :'( But Vol 3 was Awsome By Sajecha I loved Tears of Tess disliked Quintessentially Q and didn't even bother reading Twisted Together (maybe I will but not today).***** Update *****Thank you for writing Twisted Together because book two killed me. This book was amazing. This is a dark romance I love Vol 1 Q and Tess were made for each other he had dark secrets she had dark secrets. They meet in a horrible circumstance b/c she was kidnapped from Mexico sold to the Russian Mafia and was given as a business bribe to Q. They fell for each other she got kidnapped again by some other retards and was raped and was saved by Q n then he released her back to her previous life. She couldn't manage being without him and went back to him. They lived Happily Ever After The End WRONG!!!!. It could've ended there but it didn't. In Vol 2 Apparently she got kidnapped again by the same guys from Mexico and since she "forgot" to remove the tracker that was placed in her neck (go figure) they were able to easily find her. Although the Russian Mafia had already known where she was since they gave her directly to Q and were in his house for dinner while she was halfway naked on display. Anyway, she was taken to Rio and was drugged for what seemed to be every hour for 14 days and was starved oh and she had pneumonia and was made to beat and kill other girls in her drugged state. At the rate that she was drugged anyone would've died of an overdose. I wasn't okay with that but it was tolerable I skipped like 6 chapters of this repeating scenario. What I didn't like was that in this book Q seemed like a dumb@$$ who couldn't think coherently and was losing his f!@#$%^ mind oh and was portrayed as a godd!@ whimp at the end. When they finally find her she was a drugged up mess and the recovery was even messier. He kept on begging her and begging in so many ways on different chapters to talk and she refused and build a cocoon and eliminated everything and everyone after the kidnap including the love of her life Q. She was so mean, aloof, rude, and indifferent towards Q for like 5 chapters (I skipped a lot) the entire time she was physically healing like 2-3 weeks. He finally had the bright idea to have her beat the f!@# out him almost to death and then miraculously she was cured. It took about 3 weeks for Q to accept her back and believe that she was the same. I was so disappointed with the repetitiveness of the how Q begged and how drugged she was, and how Q went from bold animalistic beast to someone/something he was not. Although he kicked a lot of @$$ in this book, and he seem like a tough guy you would not want to mess with but it was all screwed up when Tess was rescued.Could've ended there too but no obviously there's Vol 3 I will update at a later date maybe my stars for this book will go up or maybe it will go down after reading Vol 3. I love Pepper but Vol 2 was not bad but too repetitive.I'm glad she wrote Twisted Together because it redeemed Q's manliness and it saved the love story build up between Q and Tess. Loved the first book and the third not so much the second. It was an epic ending.

By Rosa Sharon TEARS OF TESS: Monsters find each other in the dark . . .I finally, finally got around to reading Tears of Tess after hearing so much hype about it. While I regret waiting so long, on the good side I'll be able to read all three books in the trilogy back-to-back. That is a good and a bad thing actually, because I won't be able to do anything else during that time. I know this because I wasn't able to pry my hands off of my Kindle while reading the first book, I just couldn't put it down. It went everywhere with me and everything else got neglected. I read the synopsis, so I knew Tess would be kidnapped and sold as a slave. I walked right into the story with my eyes wide open, knowing what was coming...or so I thought. I was wrong. It wasn't like all the dark reads I've enjoyed before. Tess didn't go from feisty to submissive, she went from being a selfless people-pleaser with her boyfriend to a fiery foul-mouthed fighter with her captors. She was determined to escape and return to Brax. Q was not what I expected either. Well, I kinda expected to hate him and then later fall in love with him. Isn't that how it usually happens? He intrigued me from the very beginning being all sexy in his expensive suits; talking softly with that French accent. The author described him so well that I could feel his piercing green eyes. I wanted to know if he was the monster that he claimed to be. I wanted to know what made him the way he was. Well, yeah, what I really wanted was to see his tattoos and hear him talk dirty in French. I know, I'm a demanding reader, right? Well, what can I say, Pepper Winters spoils me rotten. She never fails to deliver more than I'm expecting and always leaves me satisfied and ready for more.QUINTESSENTIALLY Q: Embrace the black, recognize the truth...Holy bombproof barricade, I've joined the fucked-up-ness that is so wrong it's perfect. Who knew that my mind would embrace the darkness that fills Pepper Winter's mind and love every page? I'm ruined now, there's no turning back. I've been hearing about Monsters In The Dark for a while now, while it remained on my TBR. I've wondered about the 'birds' I see for the author's profile picture on facebook and the 'Q' on the teasers. I wondered if it was like those movies where you see a great trailer and then end up disappointed at the box-office because the hype overshadowed the reality. Well, I can assure you, the praise I've heard was an understatement that in no way prepared me for the extent of my enjoyment of this series. I am beyond impressed with the talent of this incredible author who makes magic with her words and I'm so grateful that she decided to share it with the world. I'm totally amazed at her ability to drag me into a story so deeply that I feel the emotions of the characters. The fear, the horror, the sickness, the pain, the beauty, the love, the healing. I can feel the deep connection between Q and Tess. I can feel the emotion every time I read the word 'esclave'. And when she said, "Being reprimanded by him was pure audio perfection", I melted. I totally understood what she meant with, "His wet tongue licked his lips, tasting me from head to toe without even moving". Dayum! I felt that too...sigh.TWISTED TOGETHER: "If only--hindsight is a f*@king bitch".All of us have painful experiences in our lives where we wish we could go back and do it differently. We wish we had listened to our internal clues and made different choices. And we especially regret those choices if other people are hurt by them. But I doubt many have experienced these emotions to the extreme level as Q & Tess. However; I also believe that it's because of those severe consequences and their level of suffering that they are able to reach a higher level of connection than most. I sometimes tell myself that I can't regret the experience because without it I wouldn't appreciate the good things that come after as much. My heart has hurt for the characters after reading the traumatic events they survived physically, but still live with emotionally. While I know it's fictional, there are still so many emotions and levels of suffering and healing that readers can identify with. Monsters In The Dark was a very emotional experience for me, but none so much as Twisted Together. I sometimes didn't understand where the author was going, or why she was going there at all, but finally came to the realization that she was weaving an intricate web and if I was patient the end result would be a beautiful pattern that served a purpose that wasn't apparent until it was complete. And then...it stays with you...for a long time
