THE GUY AT THE BAR. His story goes well beyond the beer in front of him and the game on television. He has years of bumps, bruises, and scars from life’s left and right fist. He’s been tossed around, knocked down, and beat up. His story is not unique. It’s all of our stories. It’s the story of the human condition. At some point in life we’ve all been The Guy At The Bar - a little roughed up and broken, but presenting ourselves to the world with a beer in hand and smile on our face. Author Adam Griffin was The Guy At The Bar during one of the worst things a human can go through—the loss of a child. This is his story. It’s not a story of death and despair however. It’s a story of persistent hope. It’s a story of finding the good piled well beneath the crap. And it’s a story of feeling the sunshine once again through far too many clouds. This is a book for the hurting. It’s a book for healthy. It’s a book for anyone along for the ride above ground. It’s a book...for humans.

Good management of bad experiences leads to great growth. -John Maxwell By Cesar Romero Every problem introduces a person to himself." -John McDonnellThis book is a lesson to all of us on how to cope with painful experiences and make the best out of them. What I love about the book, besides being beautifully written, it's the fact that Adam tells his story from his own experience of loss and pain and how he found the strength to keep pressing forward despite the pain. The result is this inspirational book and a much more wiser Adam Griffin hungry to pay it forward to others. This book teaches us that we all have bad experiences and of course we do not like them, but what makes the difference is how we manage them and Adam has done a phenomenal job at not only turning a bad experience into a positive one, but also sharing his journey with the rest of the world.By reading this book you are going to learn what makes Adam a wonderful human being, but most importantly the fact that most successful people usually point to their lowest points in their lives as a key point in their journey of development.Thank you Adam for sharing your painful journey with us and showing us that pain is part of life and that managing bad experiences well is just part of human growth. Can't wait for your next book!Cheers my friend!Cesar Romero

Adam walks the reader through the two tragic losses of his life, the emotions that followed, how he and his wife dealt with those emotions, and, finally, the wisdom and perspective gained. In a lot of ways this is a book about grief, but more importantly it is a book about life and how to deal with being alive. If you are in the darkness, it is a story of hope. If you are in the sunshine, it is a lesson in empathy. If you are stuck, it is a way to get moving. Not every page spoke to me or resonated deeply with me, and for that, I am glad. This is not my story and it likely will not be your story. There are emotions in this book of which I can only scratch the surface and not come close to fully understanding, but there is also plenty in here to which everyone can relate. The Guy At The Bar is an honest account of Adam's story - one of pain, grief, and making his way to the other side - and it is a story you will want to read.

It is truly a book about life, and how to live it. Suffering the death of a child and a best friend, and managing to " see through the fog " incredible. Adam, you have shared your heart with all of us, and we thank you!
