1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Can't wait to see more By cc2015 I love the setting, the story, and the characters! Opal Ridge is a story that any romance lover can enjoy. Victoria Capper also seems to be very knowledgeable about the Australian outback, and the setting definitely came off as realistic. Jenna and Charles are quite different, but from the get-go I felt that they are meant to be together... the fact that they had plenty of differences to overcome made the book a more interesting read. I can't wait to see more by this author!

By Vicki Roberts What an enjoyable read! It took me back to some time I spent on a station in Western Queensland.Opal Ridge is a well written story about the developing romantic relationship between Charles and Jenna. The book is set in Opal Ridge, a fictional town based on small towns of outback Australia. Jenna grew up in the far outback before moving to the big city to work. Charles divides his time between helping to run the family property and running a business in Brisbane. The story of Jenna (who replaces her injured brother as a jackeroo), and Charles (a man who has had bad experiences with women and will not have one on his property) is told against a background of daily life on an outback station and its local community. The reader is able to gain an insight into how people in these remote communities live, as the characters and situations remind me of various people I know who live and work on properties in western and northern Queensland.I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a sense of the Australian outback through an authentic depiction of life in a remote Queensland community. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
