Once again Christi Caldwell blows me away with her beautifully moving story By Cara Ross So if you have read my blog or reviews over the past few months you would know I am absolutely IN LOVE with all of the heroes in Christi Caldwell’s books. Well we are going to add another one today called Alex!Poor Imogen; not only did she commit a gross faux pas at Almack’s, but now she has to live through the embarrassment of her sister marring the man to which she was betrothed. So now she has to suffer through the snide remarks and the gossiping women of the ton and at times, her own mother. She has one refuge, her best friend Chloe Edgerton.Sir Alex Edgerton (Chloe’s brother) has managed to survive a horrendous childhood and has become a reckless rake to take away his pain and memories. But now his brother Gabriel has cut him off; unless he becomes chaperone to his sister Chloe and by default to Lady Imogen too. It is only then does he see how Imogen suffers at the hands of her peers and her own family and he strives to protect her.But when it becomes Alex’s protectiveness public knowledge, he is stopped in his tracks by monsters of the past.So when it comes to the characters, what struck me first is that Imogen and the Edgerton’s back stories are truly stories of survivors and honestly, who couldn’t fall in love with Alex and his need to protect the women in his life. I would love to see both Chloe and Gabriel find their true loves as well.Once again Christi Caldwell blows me away with her beautifully moving story, which literally moved me to tears. The writing is flawless and smooth story and it lacks for nothing. So with all that being said, I give The Love of a Rogue 10 out of 10.

Christi Caldwell is such a wonderful writer. She creates a world were you want to crawl in and be a part of the lives of the richly and complex characters found in each book!The story revolves Lady Imogene Moore who has suffered two betrayals from her betrothed and her sister and has now become the topic of the ton's vicious gossip. While she still believes in love, she is looking for safe marriage to keep her heart protected.Lord Alex Edgerton is a second son and rogue of the first order. He has spent the past decade trying to forgot the pain of his childhood by indulging in gambling, drinking and women. Alex is happy in his life until he meets Imogene, who turns his world upside.This book was magical and a joy to read. I loved both Imogene and Alex and their chemistry was off the charts! They are two hurt souls who bring out each others inner strength and teach each other what it means to really love.This is a must read book and part of The Heart of a Duke Series. While this is a stand alone, I highly recommend reading the entire series.

By Dee Foster Lady Imogen Moore has had been nothing but the talk of the ton since her come out 3 years ago. A horrifying accident at Almack's the year she came out & now the hurt, humiliation & betrayal of her betrothed & her sister. Her mother has decided it's time for Imogen to get back out into society & starts planning on who Imogen should marry. Lady Chloe Edgerton is Imogen's best friend (& sister to the Marquess that Imogen's mother has set her sights on)steps in to save Imogen from her mother as often as she can & to help stave off the inevitable first meeting with her sister & former betrothed. Of course Chloe will have to be chaperoned by her brother the Marquess - which to Imogen's mother there's no better way to gain his attention.Lord Alex Edgerton, second son in the Edgerton family & Chloe's older brother, has been living his life as a rogue...gambling, women, drink. After a run of bad luck he is summoned to see his older brother, the Marquess of Waverly who effectively cuts off Alex's allowance. However, the Marquess gives him the opportunity to "earn" his allowance back by chaperoning Chloe around town & to ton events for the season.A chance meeting in the Waverly library has Alex intrigued with his sister's friend although she is an innocent & he will not have much contact with her. Alas, he soon finds out that in chaperoning his sister her friend will be there also. All Imogen knows about her best friend's brother is what she has heard & read in the scandal sheets.In their time together will Alex be able to get past the lessons learned from his father about being a no good second son? Will he allow the walls around his heart to crumble? Or will he go back to his roguish ways & forget about the fiery redhead? Will Imogen be able to see past what she thinks she knows about Alex & see the real person?Another great read by the talented Christi Caldwell & can't wait to read her next story.
