About the Author Mark Henry is an author, philosopher, and healer in the Reiki tradition. His journey in energy healing began in the late nineties. Mark has a bachelor of arts degree in religious studies and a master of arts degree in metaphysical science. He is certified in two traditions of Reiki healing and a Master Practitioner of Neuro-linguistic Programming. Mr. Henry teaches workshops on Reiki and metaphysics in the southern United States. His other interests include coaching, magick, and hypnosis. Mark spends his days writing, teaching, and fighting the tyranny of his homeowners association.

A Well Written Primer on the History and Practice of Reiki By Mac Haik As someone completely ignorant to the ancient Japanese practice of energetic healing, Reiki, I was intrigued to learn about the origins of Reiki as well as the practice of Reiki in today's modern era. Mark Henry's book serves as a wonderful introductory primer on this fascinating topic and introduces the reader to the theory and practice of energetic healing. Henry's writing style is utilitarian and precise, especially in the exercise sections designed to aid the novice practitioner or student in conducting certain spiritual practices and rites. The review questions at the end of each chapter are helpful to the reader in digesting and assimilating recently read content. In this book henry also generously shares the personal experiences of his peers and students devoted to the practice of Reiki to illustrate the essential humanity and possibilities for transformation that Reiki practice can offer its adherents. All-in-all, Henry's boo is an easy to read treatise on the origins, theory, and practice of Reiki written by a master practitioner of his craft that anyone, with even a moderate interest in this topic, will find enlightning and educational.

Mark's writing is clear, concise, and even quite witty. Reading the book was more like having a conversation with a friend. The workbook pages and questions are also an excellent resource for students and teachers alike. One of my favorite things about this book was the whole "spirit drink" concept. I can't say that I've seen that in any other Reiki book and it was a delightful concoction to make with students! I also really appreciate the fact that the book clearly and effectively shows the relationship of Western Reiki and metaphysics. This is something that is often overlooked. If Mark Henry were to offer classes in my area, I would most certainly attend one without hesitation.
