About the Author Janyce Hamilton began her career as an editor in Chicago. She worked as a reporter for LIFE Newspapers, and wrote/produced the documentary Write Poems, Sing Songs, distributed by the University of California at Berkeley. After ghostwriting several books for others, she realized what she really wanted to do is write one under her own name. She lives in Naperville with her family, not far from where she was raised in Lily Lake and Glenview, Illinois.
