When Gareth, Lord Worthe, agreed to host his best friend Michael's sister before her first season in London, he had no idea that there would actually be two sisters descending on his homework all of their noise, dresses and talk of finding husbands. Gareth is expecting the lovely Charlotte, but is in no way prepared for the stunning Jane. While Gareth only sees a beautiful, witty young woman, everyone else around Jane sees the invalid that she became after an accident when she was young. While she is confined all day to a wheel chair because her back injury makes it too painful for her to be up on her legs for any length of time, Jane is quick-witted and mischievous, bringing out the best in the usually taciturn Gareth. When Gareth proposes, he has a much harder time convincing Michael that Jane is worthy of being loved, rather than pitied, than he does convincing Jane that he is the man for her. I loved that this story showed that true love knows no obstacles and how real love can bring out the absolute best in people. The characters are shown with all of their human flaws and insecurities and you will love them even more for it!

By Krystal There was a lot that I LOVED about this book - and there were a couple (of silly things) that I didn't love about this book. Lets start with what I DIDN'T LOVE.It was a novella. I say this a lot - in fact this is probably my biggest pet peeve with novellas - they are such strong books on their own that I desperately wish for more. No, this is not a bad thing, it is simply me wanting to spend more time with these particular characters and spend more time in their world. It also makes me want to know more about the secondary characters as well.As it pertains to this story (this will also cover what I LOVED about it) - I absolutely LOVED these characters! I loved the fact that Jane wasn't the "perfect" heroine as we see in so many other stories set in this time period. She had a physical disability that I think many people will be able to relate to, but the fact that she was disabled only added to her character and who she was inside. That to me, the inside beauty overshadowing the outside beauty, is one of the things I enjoyed most about this story. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the banter between her and Gareth, and seeing their romance bloom (although I too wish there would have been more to enjoy between them). There is a bit of "back and forth" in the POV of the characters, which as the reader, helped me to better see/understand the perspective of each of the different characters. While I understood Michael's desire to protect his sister (even if I didn't always like his methods), it was also refreshing to see not only how Jane saw herself, but how Gareth also saw her.I do hope that even with this being a stand-alone novella, that there will be more from these characters. I would love to read about Charlotte finding her happily ever after as she was the reason Jane found hers, and I would definitely like to see their brother Michael finally meet his match as well.DISCLAIMER: I received a complimentary copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review. This has not affected my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are 100% my own.

No romance in a romance story.Wouldn't you think he would want to show her off around London? The opera, a play, a ride in the park, or even a ball since he would be there with her and they could play cards, plus I didn't feel the love in this story at all. Maybe because it was so fast. The possibilities were there for a fantastic story of great love, but Ms.. Gordon dropped the ball and it makes me sad. Sad because she had a great plot idea, unique at least in all the books I've read in the genre and one I think is needed.
