5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Good read!! By jennifer schultheis In Bed with the Bachelor is a good read. I really enjoyed Jesse. He made this story enjoyable for me. Even though he has been screwed over in life by his father and ex-girlfriend, he still believes in honor and being faithful. I've read many books where the guy's been cheated on in the past and then starts becoming a manwhore who doesn't care who he sleeps with. Thankfully with this story, with the hero, he has morals and understands what's right and wrong. Michaela just made me want to slap her upside her head. She's not a bad heroine and you can tell she has heart....it's just she's a little naive and let her boyfriend dictate how the relationship was going to play out with all this open-relationship nonsense. I'm really glad Michaela and Jesse ended up together. I'll just mention once again how much I loved Jesse. He's definitely hero material. "I believe in hard boundaries and kept promises." Loved that line! Good read!

Snowbound Romance By Book Gannet This is another quick, easy read from Marietta mixing cabin fever with a hero who has daddy-issues and heroine who’s been brain-washed by her cheating fiancé. I’ll admit I wasn’t sure that I’d like Michaela at first. She babbles, a lot, in an annoying way as she eyes Jesse like a piece of meat and tries to convince herself yet again that her relationship with her fiancé is perfect.Actually, her whole relationship with Trevor is a big headache that I was never quite convinced by. They have an open relationship, which naturally he’s the only one to exploit, their forthcoming marriage is described as a change in tax status, and to be honest I’m not sure she even likes the guy. It was quite baffling. It would have been one thing if she really believed in what she was saying, but it’s clear she never does, she just thinks she should because Trevor has told her it’s the mature thing to do. I get that she’s hardworking and all, but that’s no excuse for denying herself everything she wants. It’s not even as though they live together and so she doesn’t want to be alone. It was just confusing to me.Unlike Jesse, who is straight forward, sexy and spends most of the time battling his principles in an effort not to end up like his father. Wow, what a prize that man is. I’m fully on Jesse’s side about not wanting to let that one go – three years is not long enough to get over that kind of betrayal. He’s surly and grumpy, but I liked how he and Michaela fit so well together – they’re both hardworking, both successful and have no need to interrupt each other’s work time. They also have some scorching chemistry and plenty of subtle flirty moments.Set essentially over a few days, when Jesse and Michaela are snowbound in a motel room, this has an intimate, cozy feel to it. Yes, the emotions are heightened and rushed, but this is only a novella and I liked how Jesse turns everything Trevor demanded on its head. I might have liked to have actually seen certain confrontations towards the end of the book, rather than have them recapped in conversation, but overall I liked this.Cute, sensual and easy to read, this is another great addition to the Bachelor Auction series. I’m going to be so sad once the last one is finished, but thankfully there should be plenty more opportunities to keep visiting Marietta.(I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.)

Jesse Grey, who lives in Seattle, would rather write a check for the cause, but he reluctantly agrees to be auctioned as a date at the charitable fundraiser being held to raise money for an injured boy and his mom. The family of Michaela Townsend wins the bid, giving the date to Michaela as her bachelorette gift. Michaela is stunned into silence and awe at the handsome Jesse Grey, and he finds her … intriguing. As a snowstorm descends on Montana, Jesse decides he wants to head back to Seattle early, hoping to beat the storm. Since Michaela also lives in Seattle, he offers to bring her with him since her flight will likely be canceled. As expected, the storm rages on, causing them to spend a couple of nights at a small motel where there was only one available room. Interesting conversations and increasing tensions lead to both confusion and desire, but Jesse does not ‘poach’ another man’s woman-no matter what. The weather finally clears, as do the roads, and several hours later, Jesse is driving away from Michaela’s home, while she watches him leave. Neither feels contentment nor peace, but she is an engaged woman … can there really be a HEA ending for either of them?This was another good Marietta bachelor auction book – can be read as a stand-alone, but does briefly mention a few characters from the other stories. If you enjoyed the other books in the series, you will want to read this one too.Thank you to the author and publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
